Using save to edit game vs. action replay

I'm curious after my whole incident with the trainer ID/SID being illegal on Pokecheck by using action replay

I dont want to trust AR as much anymore and wondering if extracting my save in the beginning of the game and changing stuff from there will make it at least legal

It depends on the edits you make, but yes, as long as you make smart edits, it will be legal.
