Scorpio Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 whats with the spambots lately? shouldn't a captcha or similar be implemented to avoid then auto registering to the forums?
evandixon Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 We have a captcha, but captchas don't seem to work. (It might defeat the less sophisticated AIs though.) For now, it's up to moderators like me to delete the spam. Maybe in the future the forum will be updated and be less susceptible to spam bots.
Scorpio Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 its possible to add lets say further questions has i have seen in other forums to improve protection against bots
Guest Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Just use custom questions instead of captchas, it's the best way to keep them out.
VideoGamePhenom Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 I've been seeing the same thing. There has been a lot of evasions and sock puppetry going on around here too. This forum needs upgrading to detect who is being used by IP Address.
Scorpio Posted April 13, 2014 Author Posted April 13, 2014 still nothing has been done to end this spambot mess
evandixon Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Believe it or not, it has actually gotten better. I just deleted a bunch of spam. That should be most of it for now.
papadragon418 Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Good luck! Also, I noticed that a spam bot necro'd an old news post. Doesn't bode well...
