rxpapi12 Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 The use of external devices to alter the Pokémon in a player’s party is expressly forbidden. Random checks will be performed throughout the tournament to determine whether or not an external device has been used to modify a player’s party. Sure my whole party might have perfect IVs but thats not impossible without an external device. So long as the pokes are legal no machine they pull out can tell if the pokemon wasn't edited? maybe I'll put a few IVs that aren't as important in the high 20s lol
AtomicGreymon Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 I think, as long as the stats are legal, then they shouldn't register is hacks. Assuming you also changed their PIDs to go with the IVs you gave them... I haven't really looked into changing my Pokemon's IVs yet, however from the little I have read so far the PID and IVs seem to be related; and that can be used to discern hacks.
rxpapi12 Posted April 10, 2009 Author Posted April 10, 2009 the legality checker checks for the right PID/IVs together so I know I'll be fine there since my team comes with up with Wild NDS or GBA i guess i should be good.....
Poryhack Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Pretty much the sole focus of the legality checking effort has been on pkms themselves. There are no guarantees that they won't be able to tell you hacked your save as a whole.
AtomicGreymon Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 If the only thing about the save file that's been tweaked are the Pokemon, though, wouldn't everything else be exactly the same as your original save prior to modifying it?
Poryhack Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 No, it's not that simple. Sabresite could explain it better than me.
AtomicGreymon Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Hm, ok. Is Pokemod going to get into that overall save legality thing, at all? And, as a side note, what about a scenario where someone were to dump their save from the retail cart, edited whatever Pokemon they wanted in Pokeav... then ran the save file from a flash cart with a ROM of the same game, and traded those Pokemon back to their retail cart? Could the retail cart's save potentially show up as modified then?
rxpapi12 Posted April 10, 2009 Author Posted April 10, 2009 No, it's not that simple. Sabresite could explain it better than me. ok how about edit the pokes i want then trade them to an untouched copy of platinum?
damio Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 ok how about edit the pokes i want then trade them to an untouched copy of platinum? If the pokemon aren't illegal, then it would work.
