Bug Nicknames and abilities of generated pokemon change when they evolve

For example I created a Pidgey to replace my starter, gave it a nickname and made it's ability tangled feet. When pidgey evolved it's name changed to Pidgeotto and it's ability changed to keen eye. Is this a bug with all pokegen pokemon or did I do something wrong?

Hmm, for the nickname, did you check the flag box next to the text field? As for the ability, I do not know, you may have set the value for that ability wrong, but I would get help from someone else on that part. I hope this helped somewhat.

hidden abilities require the hidden ability flag; you didn't set it.

likewise, you didn't set the 'nicknamed' flag
