Pharosher Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Hello, I am interested in purchasing a few flash carts to use, but I have a few questions first (and would like your opinion on what I need to get). I am looking for good flash cart(s) that I can do the following things with: 1. An easy to use flash cart that I can drag and drop the necessary files onto and then run the games from the Nintendo DS (from what I read the R4i SHDC 3DS is the best for this?). I am looking to try and run pokemon distribution cart roms off of it, from which they can be picked up with another Nintendo DS with the retail game inside 2. Back up any DS/GBA Pokemon game and reload it back onto the flash cart (if I need a different cart for each that is fine) 3. Will I be able to trade with the Pokemon games (on the flash cart) with my retail pokemon games? (assuming that I have access to two Nintendo DS’s) I am still learning about all of this, so any help would be appreciated
ReignOfComputer Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 1. SuperCard DSTwo (Ignore "3DS Flashcarts". Most of them are fakes. 3DS encryption has not been cracked for 3DS game playback yet.) 2. Elaborate more please. A Flash Cart is capable of allowing access to game saves, if that is what you are referring to. 3. Yes.
Pharosher Posted March 7, 2012 Author Posted March 7, 2012 Thanks for the quick response. For my question #2, I would like to be able to back up a game save from a Pokemon DS game & a Pokemon GBA game (I may need a different adapter for both?), and then transfer each individual save to a flash cart (to then trade with a retail cart on a different DS/GBA) .
ReignOfComputer Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 To back up a game save from a retail NDS cartridge, I'd suggest that you buy the NDS Adapter+. I don't have an answer for backing up a GBA cartridge save, sorry.
Delta Blast Burn Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 (edited) You can use this to back up any gba game using just about any flash cart, and you can use it to back up nds games if you have a slot 2 card, or you can use an ftp server to send it directly to your computer using the ds's wireless capabilities. Edited March 7, 2012 by Delta Blast Burn clarification; typo
Pharosher Posted March 7, 2012 Author Posted March 7, 2012 Thanks for the response, I have a few more questions. Is there a way to restore a GBA save to a flashcart/retail game cart? Also, if I were to get a Supercard DSTwo does that have a slot 2 card?
Delta Blast Burn Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 A slot 2 card is something that fits into the gba slot on the ds, and if you have one of those there's really no reason to restore the save to the retail cart because, they have the ability to play gba games built in.
