Novacaine Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 I've been playing Pokemon Black on DeSmuME for a few days, and today when I tried using PokeGen to get some stuff, I kind of came to a bump in the road when I realized I don't have any idea where to get my save file from the game to edit. Can anyone tell me where you'd find this?
Dreamer Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 You will find a .dsv file in a file named Battery(Created after you opened desmume for the 1st time)
Novacaine Posted October 5, 2011 Author Posted October 5, 2011 Ah, I'd found that already while searching through files outside of PokeGen and had presumed that's what it was, until I tried loading into PokeGen, where I found it wasn't one of the "supported files" PokeGen could load. How do I manage to solve that?
Novacaine Posted October 5, 2011 Author Posted October 5, 2011 Is there anywhere in specific you have to export it to though? Because I've exported it before, loaded that with PokeGen, saved, and then tried importing it back to the game, but it made no changes what so ever.
Codr Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 You don't have to export anything. Desmume saves the save file to a .dsv file (as was mentioned) in the folder you have configured in "Path Settings" for "SaveRam". If you're loading your game with a save state, you're not utilizing the save file and obviously won't see any changes.

evandixon Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Can you not just overwrite the dsv file you loaded? If not, you could try: 1. Save as a raw sav file 2. In DeSmuMe, File -> Import Backup Memory -> Load the file you just saved
Novacaine Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 Oh! Thank you! I finally figured it out
