Misc: Klaatu's Lineup Edited June 1, 2009 by wraith89
wraith89 Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 Whats wrong with the original teams? They ruled! Erm... read again Floot. REMATCHES. As in... REMATCHES. You know, when you fight a trainer again after you fought the trainer before. Wait, you don't know what fighting means? Okay, you know a Pokemon Battle... where you, er... never mind. Figure out for yourself
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Sorry, misread. Ahh I love nostalgia. (Lies back and remembers the memories)
wraith89 Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 Sorry, misread. Ahh I love nostalgia. (Lies back and remembers the memories) Instead of writing short sentences as such, you may want to contribute to this topic, like giving feedback to my rosters, meaning your opinion, inputs, etc... Ah yes, I love nostalgia too.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I'm sorry. I believe the rosters in your other thread were good, but ruined the images of nostalgia in the team. Maybe try editing IV's and EV's and Movesets, but Pokémon altogether, its quite extreme isn't it?
wraith89 Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 I'm sorry. I believe the rosters in your other thread were good, but ruined the images of nostalgia in the team. Maybe try editing IV's and EV's and Movesets, but Pokémon altogether, its quite extreme isn't it? The funny thing is, I have no idea if EVs are actually implemented in a in-game trainer. The other thread wasn't too bad actually; I kept their signature Pokemon in-tact... I only modified their levels so that we don't get another LOLZ0R level 9 Pidgeotto and added a FEW Pokemon to make the teams more "versatile". The rematch thing here means anything goes... even Sinnoh/Hoenn
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 EV's aren't, but should be. EV's would add more of a challenge, and challenge is FUN! Wraith89 EDIT: You did it again Floot! Contribute to the discussion! Suggestions please!
ParaDoX65 Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 They all seem just fine to me. It would be fun to fight them again The only thing that I notice is the small level difference between them. Falkner-whitney are the same. Morty-Jasmine are the same and Pryce-Clair are the same. Though they are rematches a little more of a level difference might be interesting. (Not exactly sure if a big level difference would be good for the rematches >_<)
wraith89 Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 Yeah, I didn't want them too even. That would be boring The Kanto leaders will hit insane levels though (but not 90s or 100s or anything... maybe except Blue), but E4 will be bigger than any leaders except Blue.
Endless Eden Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I think salamence is a bit to much for claire lance should have the best dragons of all the regions i whould make dragonair a dragonite(maybe reduce it a level or 2 because) and put altaria/flygon for salamence.
wraith89 Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 Rematches tend to use the person's best Pokemon, but yeah, please do tell me. The reason why I put Salamence is because it can learn Hydro Pump, and Clair's dragon Pokemon tend to be more aquatic based. I'm not so sure though... could you give me a possible moveset for a candidate?
Endless Eden Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 i will give my own flygons movesets, altaria,u-turn,dragon dance, sky attack, dragon pulse flygon, earthquake, dragon claw,flamethrower,u-turn tell me what you think.
Skyblade Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Since when do Gym Leaders use moves that can only be gotten on a Pokemon by breeding? I'm looking at a Clefable with Softboiled on that list. Almost all trainers in the game, including Gym Leaders, leave their Pokemon practically untouched on the moves list. If the Pokemon don't learn it via levelling up (or via a Gym Leader's signature TM), that Pokemon won't have it when you fight them. It's a big jump from that to them being master breeders, isn't it? Oh, and you're right. Until the variable level battles (things like the Orre Colleseum in ), trainers don't get EVs on Pokemon.

If the Pokemon don't learn it via levelling up (or via a Gym Leader's signature TM), that Pokemon won't have it when you fight them. Some of them do actually. Remember Misty's Golduck with Psychic in Gen II? You couldn't get Psychic except via breeding because Golduck couldn't learn Psychic. But then again, Lance's Pokemon had hacked moves back then too. Rock Sliding Aerodactyl? Barrier Dragonite? Anyways if you think Clefable with Softboiled or Salamence with Hydro Pump is odd, go ahead and suggest something else then.
Skyblade Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I remembered Lance's hacked Pokemon, but I had mostly forgotten the rest. It's been too long since I've played the older gen games. But, anyway, I'd stick with TM moves only, for the rematches, and leave Egg Moves out of it.
wraith89 Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 What exactly do you have in mind? I don't know... Softboiled Clefable looks fun to fight with! Vacuum Wave Toxicroak, Pain Split Dusknoir... what else do we have? I don't know. I feel like it limits some Pokemon if they don't have hereditary moves, but if you have better suggestions, by all means please do say Moved Altaria from Falkner's roster to Clair's roster and removed Salamence. Staraptor has been added to Falkner's roster.
Klaatu Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 (edited) I'd give Falkner at least one Pokemon that's not normal/flying, after all it's not the normal/flying gym =P GF screwd that part with the Johto gym types up IMO. They had 17 types, 8 used by Kanto gyms. So one of the left 9 being flying, which no Pokemon has/will ever have as it's primary type, the obvious, logical and perfect decision would have been to include a Dark type gym and leave out flying but no.... I considered that, they will probably keep (at least 1 of each species) Pokemon from the lines they use the first time. Falkner Bugsy Whitney Morty Chuck Jasmine Pryce Clair Will Koga Bruno Karen Lance Lt. Surge Sabrina Erika Janine Misty Brock Blue He's got only Pokemon already used by someone else, so that's why I'd do the following with him: Blaine Edited May 23, 2009 by Klaatu
wraith89 Posted May 23, 2009 Author Posted May 23, 2009 Blue looks like Giovanni's line o_O I'm giving Blue something unique I gave everyone a theme for a reason. Bugsy gets strong Bugs... Whitney gets Pokemon from the plains, and I kept Morty's Gengar last because it is his signature Pokemon. And about your Bugsy... there's TOO many Level 10 Bugs in there! I want it to be a challenge You're right about Falkner... I need something more original Someone help me on Chuck I gave Jasmine Sinnoh Pokes because she was in Sinnoh at D/P/P. Your ideas are cool though, but you should post their movesets and whatnot I'll make Kanto and E4 soon. I just don't want their lineups to be so similar to their Sinnoh counterparts.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 I like Klaatu's teams. Especially Togekiss in Falkner's team.
wraith89 Posted May 23, 2009 Author Posted May 23, 2009 I like Klaatu's teams. Especially Togekiss in Falkner's team. I thought about Togekiss in Falkner's... and I put Staraptor mostly for a filler because I moved Altaria down to Clair. I just had this idea for a themed team really... even with typing and whatnot. :-/ Any ideas to replace Staraptor or Swellow with? Those two are quite exchangeable @_@ I need better ideas for Chuck and Pryce, but Weavile doesn't seem to fit Pryce, although Glalie sure does
Klaatu Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 I especially like my Lance team and how the colours go from first to last <3 Also I was trying to have them have max 2 non Kanto/Johto Pokemon in (and succeeded at most of em). So most of them have 2K/1J/1H/1S<--most times an evo Yeah I thought about Bugsy's team being to crap. The Butterfree and Beedrill are in because of his Metapod and Kakuna. Scizor is obvious for various reasons. I wanted to give Heracross to Chuck so much, so he would get at least 1 of the 2 Johto Fighting type Pokemon (the other being Hitmontop @ Bruno) Shuckle seems fine in there. Then I put Yanmega in also, but took it out before posting, because I for some reason didn't want to make his team half same like Aarons(?) (Sinnoh E4 bug) and replaced it with... the other Johto Bug left. Altough Ledian is weak, I saw his counterpart used by Koga... LOL Now I'm thinking... maybe a Shedinja? EDIT: I gave him Yanmega instead of Ledian now. Those Kanto bugs still bother me, but I'll leave them cause of his original team.

I have a slightly different Lance team in mind, shall I post it? And yeah, Bugsy shouldn't be a Aaron clone. Ledian/Ariados combo took down Cynthia for me (Baton Pass ) Try a Baton Pass Ledian or something. Maybe even a pseudopasser with the screens and everything, like Lucian's Mr. Mime. Surge looks like a Volkner clone :-/
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 Lance's team was my least favorite, I'm sorry to say. I've stated before that I'm very nostalgic, so don't take this personally when I say it doesn't feel like Lance would use this team. It was very rare of me to accept a different Pokémon in Falkner's team, I just felt he would use a Pokémon like that.
