Pokedex Number for my pokemon is ???

Hey I searched with a couple different phrases and didn't find an answer, sorry if I missed it. I pokesav'd some shiny Gen4 and sooner pokemon, used a tool to make it Gen5, used IR-GTS to get it on my game, and it's Dex No. is ???, is it because I don't have the national dex yet? Or did I screw up my pokemon somehow when making it?
