In Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, after the player earns the top spot in the leader-board, of all 4 surfing spots in Alola,
the Surfer's Association at Heahea City will give a special Pikachu that has the move surf.

The gift itself has a chance of being shiny.

SWEET, so I can breed surfing Pikachus! Nice! Anyway, are these in-game gifts genderlocked, I keep getting female totem Pokes and have been soft resetting for a male Pikachu to no avail, only male totem I have is Araquanid, so I doubt it's genderlocked, not sure for Pikachu.

Wait, no.
Only this gift gives you surf.

Breeding it won't pop up more surfing pikachu. (that's not how breeding works).

Pikachu isn't genderlocked.
The one I uploaded is female, and in the images, you can see my personal shiny one is male/

Oh, rip... well whaddya know. Then I will just keep on soft resetting until I get a male Pikachu.
