This event was distributed to players as a Local Wireless Gift at Pokemon Centers across Japan, to celebrate the coming of Spring.
This distribution, is one part of the many ピカピカ春祭り ^{Pika Pika Matsuri} (lit. Sparkling Spring Festival, anglicized as Pikachu's Easter in promotion artwork) events held this year (2017).
