It is true though that Umbreon (and Espeon) were able to learn Nightmare via TM50 in Gen II though. The only problem I have with Dark Void is that it is actually representative of a Black Hole or something of that sort (minus the physics of never returning) and when Darkrai used it in the anime, it was more like throwing an orb of purple stuff and anything that got sucked in went to sleep. I wish I could edit some Pokemon's base stats, but they're pretty permanent. *Stares at Onix who has lower HP and Attack than a Phanpy*

Foul Play ftw. Someone who can actually use this properly would indeed be Umbreon (I found little use on other Pokemon with this). Hmmm I would have imagined Umbreon with Hypnosis more so than Dark Void... because Dark Void is Darkrai's specialty. (What Uber-exclusive attack was passed down to regulars might I ask?) Umbreon isn't known to cause Nightmares and stuff, though I wish Cresselia had something negating that or something, but she does not. I like the idea of Magic Guard though, seeing how Espeon got Magic Bounce, Umbreon should get its opposite. Though, that's a little scary because of Umbreon's monster defences. That ability (Magic Bounce) is too broken anyhow; it allows Espeon and Xatu to mess up certain Dark Pokemon like Umbreon and Mandibuzz. Great job!

Magic Guard Alakazam, Multiscale Dragonite, Moxie Salamence (note: DW Salamence gets DD and Outrage! o_o), etc... yep all good additions, but I'm not sure if the OP was talking about Gen V Pokemon exclusively or everyone in Gen V.

Beheeyem and Gothitelle? Not in the slightest; they're fairly balanced but still cry "Pursuit weak". Gothitelle with Shadow Tag, however, can be lethal, but she's not too scary in general. Most of the Psychics in this game function well in Trick Room; they're the bulky yet slow types (stares at Musharna), but Magic Guard and Recover is what separates Reuniclus from the rest; not to mention its stronger SpA stat and its incredible defences. It can even live a Heracross's Megahorn... how cheap is that? I will not take them by intoxication I will not take them by incineration I will not take them in a sandstorm I will not take them in a hailstorm I will not take them from toxic spikes I will not take them from regular spikes I do not take residual damage you see Now let me set up and watch me be! What annoys me is that most of these look like some 9 year old child drew them and they get away with some made up crazy stat that breaks thresholds, when 130s was good enough, now they troll with 140s and speed tiers designed to troll on old thresholds (111 speed Trololos? Seriously?!) <rant>You see... most games favour offence over defence. I know Gen II metagame existed and NOTHING would get KOd (a + 2 EQ from Charizard wouldn't OHKO Ampharos, for instance), so they changed this by overhauling the EV system and implementing natures. That was great and all, and Pokemon with high defence such as Cloyster or Steelix weren't broken by any means since they had crippling weaknesses elsewhere. Some were offset by low base HP or something. Then come Gen IV with the addition of attack boosting stuff which made defensive Pokemon having a harder time to find themselves a role. However, it wasn't all too bad; Gen IV's standard metagame was pretty balanced. I mean sure we had 165 attack Rampardos or 140 attack Rhyperior, but they also had very crippling weaknesses that made them able to be dealt with (namely low speed). Now Gen V is what's starting to kill me with the addition of the aforementioned OP Pokemon with sky high stats (Haxorus: superior STAB, attack, speed, and offensive ability than Rhyperior and Rampardos), lack of very exploitable weakness (try to OHKO Conkeldurr without STAB Hurricane or something), and overall cheesiness. Defensive Pokemon really cannot keep up with this; stall game is very rare now. Skarmory's 140 base Defence now looks funny to some Pokemon because Haxorus's + 1 Outrage CAN 2HKO w/ SR... are you serious?! A + 2 can even OHKO Lugia... who is one of the most bulkiest Pokemon in existence </endrant>

The whole darn lot > Reuniclus (what do you get when you tack on a broken ability to a Pokemon with extraordinary stats, movepool, a boosting move, and a reliable recovery move?) Haxorus (total noob Pokemon for people who have nothing better to do than spam STAB Outrage out of 147 base attack and base 97 speed... if that's not enough look at Mold Breaker + Earthquake, Dragon Dance, and Swords Dance) Excadrill (Sand Rush + Swords Dance + sky high 135 base attack with STAB Earthquake + metagame dominated by sand, banned recently along with Thundurus from standards) Conkeldurr (yeah go ahead and troll on other fighters with your base 140 attack power and reasonable bulk) SHADOW TAG Chandelure (this has got to be the stupidest thing Gamefreak has ever created... 145 special attack, reasonable speed just to slap a Choice Scarf on, trap somebody and you're guaranteed that KO on most Pokemon) Honestly I'm having trouble taking many of Gen V Pokemon seriously. Agreed on Volcarona, though like most strong Pokemon, a 4x weakness to Rock and a weakness to Water and Flying keeps it in check. But it is a beast and sets up rather easily. Eelektross isn't too broken though, but it is certainly hard to counter. The speed is a huge letdown and it isn't too bulky either. Darmanitan was just made to abuse that crazy 140 attack power, Sheer Force, and large speed, though that frailty keeps it in check, particularly since Fire is not a great defensive type. I swear these new Pokemon are crazy. I'd also want to say Scrafty, but he's not as bulky as I thought he'd be. I'm also tempted to say Ferrothorn and Whimsicott, but they're not really overpowered, just annoying.

So generally, it gets harder and harder to find what to appreciate in women. Of course I look into individual qualities (that's my main emphasis... and ANYONE who doesn't just stare at a woman's figure); but looking at that is rather too ideal at this time and age. There are parts what make a woman... a woman. And they took that away. Women are confused about it as well and think men like them being objects. The increase in the woman objectification came during the sexual revolution (post-Kinsey) and along with that came this monstrous industry of Hugh Hefner and sexual violence.

Believe it or not, being gay is actually different from lesbianism. And even in homosexual relations, there is always someone who dominates and one who is passive; like man and woman... showing that something is wrong there. It's only natural for women to be women...

Woman. Without her, man is nothing.

Woman, without her man, is nothing.

You figure that one out ^

With the whole idea of women "coming out to show their individualism"... is actually destroying them. Sometimes constraining is necessary or else you get stuff like Special Attacking Machamp, you know, because he wants to be Alakazam? The funny thing is, 99.999999999999999% of the women in this world are ALL going for this, while they have kept some of their femininity (God knows how long before it's extinct), they all follow the rest (which used to be a small minority) into thinking it's natural, because they didn't know any better. You'd think it's an individual thing but it's a trend seeing how nearly everybody is acting the same since it's the "next cool thing". It's faux individuality. There were trends back then but at least everybody knew how to define their sex. You could tell who a man or a woman was (for the most part), but now you look far you wonder if that person is a guy or a gal. What feminism has succeeded in doing is undermining society's perception of women.

Men do play a huge role in the family. Without fathers, the family is broken. For boys, without the love of their fathers, they are prone to turn homosexual. The stupid thing is they want you to think otherwise nowadays. Heck, look at Pokemon: how many of the games actually have you with your father? Just one of them, and he's far from your home... the rest is "let's live with our mother and we're okay!" Or portray the father as a fool with his conservatism (Bianca's father.. who was right).

It's not that I want them in my ideal or whatever; it's what they naturally are. I love individuality, and despite what people think, you CAN still be an individual while keeping to your traditional roles. It's doable with men, why wouldn't it be with women? Your example is just nitpicking on the wrong things... that's not what I meant. Women are FAR from what they were... they've been put into the workforce, dons roles of men... and we wonder why marriages break apart so easily these days.

Can't look at idealism because the people who created feminism were downright opposed to the very femininity of woman. It's not what you think; that's what we were made to think; the voting and all that was just a platform for their ultimate ends of making women into men. Their ultimate role wasn't equal rights; it was literally equality and superiority and it still is.

Um, gender plays a huge role... and it's quite obvious through history that women administration were a lot different than those of men's. Were there positives? Certainly. But more often than not a rule was more consolidated when a man took lead than a woman. That's why Salic laws were present, though Britain did not.

I didn't say men could not be misled. They can certainly be (and a lot has), but to a different nature than a woman in charge would. You did nail it right in the head though; that's exactly how.

However, I do advocate for treating women with respect. They do deserve it, it is chivalrous for us men to do so. But you wonder why chivalry died out? Because women are an endangered species... I really cannot fall for anybody nowadays. I'm quite old and haven't snogged anybody in my life to be exact or had any significant other, which is why I'm usually alone, but being alone allowed me to think. I don't hate women I've noticed (I always thought I did)... but I hate what they've become. Either a sex object, a man wannabe (when they try that they emulate all the bad parts about men, not the good parts), or just golddigging fickle mindless lot with nothing better to do than be a modern whore. I've developed a cynical view, but I think it's fair until I'm convinced real women do exist.

I'm not saying women shouldn't ever lead or anything. In fact, they can be more capable than a man in many ways. A woman's wisdom is invaluable; but they are also the most easily misled. It's just how we are designed; there's no way to internally change that. I mean, people say "women may wanna play sports" or something, but if you have noticed, for the most part, they are more inclined to be more passive and avoid those types of stuff in general (unless they were taught to do that when they were little and all). But naturally they don't really like to do things men do, so what is the point of "equal rights" again?

I was advocating that too when I was little, but that's because I knew no better. As I grew older I realised there's just not a single woman I like because they all assert manliness of some sort; I only fell for those that were the most feminine but only for a while <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/unsure.png" alt=":/" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/unsure@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Humans were designed with hierarchy and differentiation in mind. Uniqueness, etc... the sex barrier is slowly being removed along with nationality and stuff. The world crumbles as we speak.

In history, if you are talking about "mother goddesses", there were abundant numbers of them, but all of them had the same kind of message; a woman and a CHILD (a SON) who would be a Saviour of some kind. It was some sort of a counterfeit set by the devil to mimic what is to come. He gained that clue when God told him that the seed will come from the woman. I've heard absurd conclusions such as "God is a woman because they referred to 'Her' as our Mother in Heaven". What? The Jews of our times are a very testimony of a FATHER in heaven.

Unfortunately, any "evidence" that they show for the women being regarded as superior are doctored by feminists . If ANYONE indicates any sex is superior, they are dead wrong. (For all we know Venus of Willendorf may have been some pornographic doll...)

You see, that's why I don't believe in ideologies. Same for democracy, communism, etc. All had that idea, but with human powers, there is no way to make anything equal. Men were not created equal; full stop. In any case, feminism's problem is they are trying to make women into men; which means EVENTUALLY there will be no girls. They detest the true view of what a woman is... it destroys society and eventually we men will have no women to turn to. It's sad because women are the best companion men could ever ask for. Is it fair to say Umbreon is better than Espeon then, despite them both playing different roles? I mean, Umbreon defeats Espeon one on one... so like.. that must be the case.

It may depend on the situation, BUT regardless, you always try to avoid the worst case scenario as much as possible. If people don't then they're not trying hard enough.

Show me.

What? Tell me where you heard women were superior to men. That was never the case in history. Anthropologists find fertility goddess idols and stuff, but that proves nothing. Most of the time it was men who took the lead within our 6000 years of history. Women were relegated for other means: it never meant they were inferior however, just playing a different role. Feminism now tries to break that line under the banner of "equal rights". It's all a lie: it's no better than male chauvinism, maybe even worse!

Alas there's always alternatives, such as placing the kid for adoption. That's always available now.

I know that comment sounded insensitive but I'm trying to understand santorum here.

How Would You Improve Some Pokemon (Competitively)?

Just for fun... what would you specifically do to make underpowered Pokemon more useful? I dug up something I was making for an old hack I was making, and found some data of what I was planning on doing. This was for Gen IV btw... and I had some proposed changes for the legendary birds because the advantage was heavily polarised towards giving Zapdos the upper hand while the other two (Articuno mostly) suffered with little to no improvements as generations went by.
