I wouldn't say so... it has good potential but unfortunately, overused sand/rain totally dominates it in usefulness and completely negating Solarbeams and whatnot. I tried sun teams... mixed it with grassers and fires alike... but it did not work too well. Now that my favorite Fire pokemon Ninetales gets Drought... well it gives me a bigger incentive to use sun again... though I really love Hail (my first ever team was Hail).</p></p></p></p></p>

Much like you I am only a casual player, though I am blessed with the knowledge of competitive battling... <p><p><p><p><p><p>EDIT: Okay... after passing Victory Road, I have 3 Pokemon at level 51, Gardevoir barely made it to 50 at the end, and Roserade is 48 and Staraptor is 49. Looks like no matter what approach I try, even doing all the sidequests, I end up the same. This calls for slight extra grinding. But this time, I've got tons of Pokemon with the advantage against whatever Victory Road offers, so it should not be a problem.</p></p></p></p></p></p>
