FINALLY AN EASY GUIDE FOR HOW TO START EDITING SAVE FILES *showers you in flower petals*

My issue is I can't figure out how to set everything up to edit my save and allow me to inject pokemon into the game. PKHeX is the only part that I've been able to figure out and its the last step. I've found guides requiring I use ocarina of time, cube ninjas, youtube...is there a way to do it without buying a game that still works?

Bumping this because I've been trying for days to understand how to do this and nothing is making sense. The easiest guide I found was a couple years old and apparently the method it shows no longer works.
