<p><p><p><p><p><p>As long as codes are entered properly (like through the PC code manager), there's little chance of harm. That chance is 0 if you don't save until you're <em>sure</em> everything worked right.</p></p></p></p></p></p>

Nintendo has no way of knowing if you used an AR on your system (maybe a 3DS, but people with full fledged flashcarts still in the system weren't denied service). They could possibly tell on the cartridge, but the warranty on cartridges only lasts 3 months, because there's not a lot that goes wrong with cartridges during manufacturing, given Nintendo's strict quality control.</p></p></p></p></p></p>
<p><p><p><p><p><p>ROMs are illegal to download or share. Nintendo says it's illegal to back them up yourself, but US law fair use lets us. So ROMs in general are sort of a gray area. Backing up the save is legal.</p></p></p></p></p></p>
