I'm thinking something like RTCread DS, where it reads the slot 2 data?

For starters this tool isn't necessary anymore now that pkhex exists, and for extracting/replacing your GBA's save file you can use "GBA Backup Tool" on a flashcard.

Well, depite this save editor is considered to be outdated. It's the most friendly one for rom hacks due to the lack of legality check.

Pkhex doesn't stop you from making changes due to legal checks though, it will tell you if something is not legal but you can still save the changes regardless.

  4. Hi,

I am new here and I found this posting helpful however I am kind of confused ok what hardware(s) I already own or need to buy to a do what I am looking to do.

So this is the hardware I currently own

1x Nintendo DS lite (gba) cart

    1x Nintendo 3ds xl

    1x action replay gba duo

1x action replay dsi with micro SD slot

1x action replay power saves pro

What I would like to do is backup my pokemon diamond, pearl soul silver, pokemon black and possible omega ruby save files. I just want to ability to backup and restore my game saves. I do not wish to edit or change saves just back them up.

I am aware with my AR dsi with micro I am able to save and restore diamond and peral without issues. The problem is soul silver, it won't read on my AR dsi or power saves.

So my question what is the best option to backup soul silver & black save files? Back them up and restore them too? Any recommendations on hardware and where to buy them. Am I able to backup and restore omega ruby alpha sapphire with AR power saves pro? Any help would be great.

You will need to get a DS flashcard or another DS backup adapter if you wish to backup and restore those 2 games, the cheapest method would be to buy a standard r4 flashcard though but otherwise you can get an r4i save dongle which seems to work perfectly on the latest update, i've always ordered from gamekool and had no problems before and the delivery seems to be fast too.

  5. I really wish I can edit my Powersaves save files with PKHeX... too bad :(, there´s no way to do it anymore.. And if Datel ignore my request of the Support of PKHeX of Pokémon X/Y/OR/AS I´ll never use PKHeX with Powersaves.. Why this life is like this... Powersaves is a program for edit your savegame(like hacking) and they don´t support PKHeX? What kind is this thing.. ;(

If you have a N3DS on 9.2 fw or below it's possible to reinject modified saves back onto the game

  6. How can I use this with save dongle please help. Thanks!

there's currently no way to send the modified save back onto the original game, only gateway users can take advantage of modified saves unless you own a cyber gadget dongle along with Japanese copies of the game and console.

  7. Thanks for your help :) The game I want to transfer the save file for is Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. So its a pretty new game, do you think it works with that then?

Well i cant seem to find anything on google or anywhere else for that matter about whether anyone else has tried this, but i just happen to have a copy of Monster hunter 4 and a Save dongle so if you dont mind me asking for you to upload your save file here or pm me i can test it myself and see if it works for you, but im not 100% certain if a digital save will work on a retail game.

  8. Hey guys, i hope someone of you can help me. I want to upload a save file from an digital copy of a game(bought from e-shop) to the cartridge version of that game. I thought it might be possible with the R4i Save Dongle, since the software for those has an encrypt/decrypt function which adjusts the save you want to upload for the cartridge encryption. But I dont have a save dongle and if it won't work i don't even need to buy one.. So does anyone know if it is possible to upload the save file from an digital version to the cartridge version with the save dongle? Or if that won't work, is there any other way to do it?

    Thanks :)

If your trying to do it with a pokemon or animal crossing game this won't be possible, other then those games im not sure myself if it will definitely work but usually the save needs to match the same size thats on the retail cart so as long as thats correct it should be fine

  9. I proposed the same thing a week ago. OmegaDonut mentioned that he'd set aside a 3DS for the idea as well. I can think of a few issues though. It'll require some specialized software and potentially hardware as well. Someone would have to develop that (or get it designed and built in the case of hardware). All the while we'd be hoping that no other way to edit saves comes about or whoever invested would be out money.

I think i do remember seeing you say something like that but since a save has just now been 100% decrypted i had my hopes up for a just a homebrew method on a hacked 3ds to be able to decrypt and whatnot but it seems i was wrong however.

Also i have been thinking about modifying a 3DS for a while for other purposes included so forgive me if this isn't allowed to be asked but where would all this detailed information be found in order to hack a 4.5 3DS? things like required tools and hardware etc.

  10. A modded 3DS is required.

Just curious but if someone was to upload their own pokemon X/Y save and send it to someone who owns a modded 3ds that can decrypt their own save be able to decrypt it and modify and be able to send it back without issues?

I am aware retail carts have their saves locked to its desired cart but i am curious if its possible now.. or if we would have to wait to crack that save lock first if at all possible.

I could see something similar to powersave happening as a paid service that could really make a lot of money off of ppl IF there is any plans to make it all public.

  11. How did you figure it out? I am in the same position as you were before you got help.

Similar issue here, i did everything specifically as said in the tutorial but when i go to remove the header i get the program asking me to load 0x3000 or 0x82000 no matter what i choose to load i see a bunch of bad eggs and japanese characters in the box name. Are we suppose to use the item modifier code for box 1 or just the code that only changes slot 1's item to x999?

This also means its only possible to load upon making a new save file from the tutorial in the future correct?

  12. Tried creating a Mew in Fire Red. Mew refuses to obey. used Rare Candy to get it to level 24, wouldn't listen, got a Cascade badge, STILL won't listen. I created Mew by loading in a Pokemon template and changed it from Slowpoke to Mew.

That would probably be because Mew's ID and/or SID is not matching yours.

  13. Does anybody talked to tje guys who managed that the 3DS can be hacked now?

Does that interfere our project to inject some pokemons to X or Y

People have asked about this before but he refused to give any information but even if we had the information they are after it wont do us any good with the encryption.

  14. Thank you theSLAYER!

Well, right now I don't want to inject data. I just want to read valuable information such as the SID and the IVs.

Are there any viable means to retrieve or calculate gen VI SIDs?

Aside of these methods (serebii, smogon) to calculate a SID in previous generations, I also found it is possible to retrieve certain game saves here; is it working for xy? And if it works, is it possible to read the information contained in such game save to get PKX data or trainer information?

Another way to find the SID was employing the lottery ticket; basically, it took a person to retrieve 3 lottery numbers at a determined time and date (set on the DS) and input the numbers along the ID on a website. The instructions are here (it's in spanish, look for "3.3.- Sin Shinys"). The Japanese website is broken, but I found a similar one here.

Given that you have several pkx files with the SID and that the lottery is back on xy, is it possible to device a method to retrieve the SID?

Somebody from Japan found a "connection between the old SID finders" and xy to retrieve MASTERBALLS using the lottery dynamics. I know that's on a different subject, but there might be something of use to retrieve a SID. You can learn more about it here (it's in japanese). Please note that this post was made after the patch 1.2 release.

    Comments appreciated~

I'm not sure what you even think you can do with your SID but as for iv calculating, at this point the only way to check iv's is to hatch the egg and start a battle with someone, with levels locked to level 50 you can then use an iv calculator.

  15. This has been something people have been asking about for years now... and now we can finally easily edit our saves without the need of using codes, works very well and i appreciate taking your time and effort to create an editing tool for something thats now pretty old yet still enjoyable!

  16. I wouldn't say so, especially if yours is open sourced.

especially when i have seen quite a few people having trouble using that program myself included, despite been able to make a virtual router on my own and use kazo's .pkx check/dump program just fine.

  17. If it's running, it's checking for Wonder Trade-sized packets from a user-specified MAC address (your 3DS's). And it'll dump the encrypted data, not a .pkx, unless Bond697 would graciously allow me to distribute his decrypting program with it.

What would you want it to be logging?

well i figured it would be more useful for the developers if it were to save logs of all the pokemon data such as moves and abilities etc (just a suggestion), also it doesn't matter what the file type is when most of the people using the program won't need the files, and one last thing, will this work in regular p2p trades? it would be more useful if it does, at least then we can check iv's and what not without trading away our pokemon.
