<p><p><p><p><p><p>And to think Great Britain, Portugal, Spain, etc all removed slavery without the need of a war and America had to engage on a large scale war with the deaths of MANY Americans to preserve the Union... you guys are something. The reason why racism is lingering on is because it was coerced; the cultures were too different between the industrial north and the aristocratic south. When it comes to the American Civil War, I'm with the South, even if they were the ones with the slaves, they had every right to secede and their government was decentralised, the way America should have been. And now look what happened >.< I wonder what would have been if the South had won that war. Mexico would possibly remain an Empire and there would be no border problems.
