Use this method to send pkm files to retail games via wifi to your gts gift center... gbasp.gif
-Download the file attached to this post, unzip it wherever.
-If you don't already have Python 2.6 download and install the version that fits your OS from http://python.org/download/
-In the files you unzipped earlier, look for sendpkm.py. Drag the PKM file you wish to send onto that file. Note that the PKM file must be a party PKM, not one from storage.
-A window will pop up telling you to set your DS's DNS server to the given address. To do this boot your pokemon game on your DS and choose "Nintendo WFC Settings" from the main menu.
-Tap whichever connection you're using and edit the settings. Select "No" for Auto-obtain DNS and enter the address given to you by the program for the primary DNS.
-Save the settings and go into the GTS/GTC ingame. It may take a few moments, but the PKM file on your computer will be sent to your game. If your party is full it will be sent to box 1 of the PC.
-Don't forget to set the DNS settings on your DS back to normal if you want to use official online functions!

Knowing that this is possible, wouldn't it be possible to replicate the GTS on your computer?
By this, I mean, would it be possible to "host" your own GTS on your own computer?

If I bring my Pokémon back from the PokéWalker because it's "lost/stolen", then I "find" my PokéWalker, will I have to reset the PokéWalker (or lose my watt/step count/routes)?
-
Which games do you need to complete the Pokédex 100 % (excluding unobtainables which may only be obtained through official events)
Do you really need Ruby AND Sapphire AND Emerald AND FireRed AND LeafGreen AND Diamond AND Pearl AND Platinum AND HeartGold AND SoulSilver?
Or which ones do you need? Out of the GBA-games I only have Emerald for example. Do I need both R/S as well and both FR/LG etc.
Ugh, Too many games and too much money if I need all of those for sure.
No, you don't need FR/LG, because you can get all Gen I Pokémon in the game;
You may need DPPt to get some Generation IV Pokémon [use the GTS (or something similar) to get version exclusives].
I'm not too sure about RSE, though.

Nintendo seems to have started to run out of good ideas for Pokémon (case in point, Bidoof) and I sincerely hope that this doesn't result in something completely outrageous,.
-
Hmmm. Perhaps how the Pokemon can follow you around (or rather Mewtwo mind control the player while you're playing as Mewtwo) seems to be my favorite new feature so far. And new breeding moves, like Water Spout Blastoise and Aqua Jet Feraligatr are also fun, adding new strategies when battling.
[mindlessofftopicrant]What I don't like is Cerulean Cave's Mewtwo... whom Gamefreak idlely left its movelist from DPP the same while everyone else like Lugia/Ho-oh were fixed accordingly. I don't know if I want to fight a Mewtwo with Psycho Cut/Amnesia/Power Swap/Guard Swap... I mean, a level 1 Murkrow can wall that Every other Mewtwos I've fought had something like Swift/Recover/Psychic/Barrier as their moves. To me, that was more challenging (especially in RBY)...[/mindlessofftopicrant]
Overall, HGSS's new features from the original GSC (despite being a good game, I felt as if it were missing a lot of things) are pretty awesome.
Hm? You lost me there.
My favorite feature is probably the fact that Pokémon can follow you around. The GB Player comes in a close second.

Didn't see anything in the rules about bumping threads/stickied threads, but I really need to ask this question now that it's popped into my head:
When using the "Original Name" function, will the original name revert to the original name that corresponds with the language for the Pokémon?
For example, my Alakazam nicknamed Spoony ( ), when using the original name function, will go back to the following:
(ENG Alakazam) ALAKAZAM
(JAP Alakazam) フ-ディン
etc?
-
I've already checked -- none of the previous versions allowed changing the Rival's name.
Any other ideas?
-
Hi there,
I want to change my Rival's name in HG/SS, but the field in HG/SS Pokésav is greyed out. I remember that I changed his name somehow for my HG save file, but I can't remember how to do that now.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
[EDIT] I used PPSE-DS to change my Rival's name and it worked.
-
I hate knowing release dates. I wish they'd announce the date like a month before or so.Yeah. They spoil the fun telling you ahead by 4 months.
I'd think it's more of an anticipation thing. I'm going to have a hard time waiting four months .
-
Yeah, that was back when Pokésav 0.02 was the latest.
But it works now.
-
Yeah.
BTW, all Pokésav'd stuff is what I did through PokemonLegend's translation of the program.
-
It still only has the Sinnoh locations, though the hometowns have been updated to include the game names, although I'm not sure if that's a new update or not...
-
You can also download Darwine (a Mac port of Wine) which is free and allows you to run most Windows apps on a Mac. Pokesav is a great example because it doesn't require any external files to run the program.

Bumpety-bump-bump-bump?
-
Hey all.
I've run Pokésav HGSS through AppLocale. The JAP characters show up, but I can't open the savefile. Whenever I try, it gives me an error. But when I run it through Pokésav HGSS w/o AppLocale, the save opens fine...
Any suggestions?
I know this issue has come up with some people before, but with the DPPt versions of Pokésav...
EDIT: Added screencap.

Indeed ! There are a few Japanese->English patches at this very forum!
Hope this helped.
Thanks, I'd been wondering this before the game had come out, but now that the game has come out, a multitude of patches have come out.

I'm testing that at the moment, and so far I've only encountered Groudon. I am, however, skipping through a good chunk of the storyline, so I'm not entirely sure. I'm going to mess around with it when I get my real game and see what happens. The Green Orb also didn't activate after I went back in with it, so I'm fairly certain you need to trigger all the prerequisites. You're more than welcome to test it yourself, and my hope is that the alternate orb WILL summon the corresponding pokemon, but I'm not 100% certain.
I have a feeling you need both Groudon and Kyogre in your party with you, from what I've read so far. I haven't actually bothered to go and get the orb

I'm such a noob...I just beet Falkner and I tried going on my journey south but the guy keeps stopping me and I don't know how to read Japanese and I got a call after I beat the Gym Leader but I didn't know what the hell he said but I went to the Pokemon Center thinking I was going to get an Egg but I just noticed the lady blocking downstairs wasn't there anymore so I'm assuming that's what the call was about.
Does anyone know how to get past the guy? He won't let me cross!!!
Go to the Violet City Pokémart and talk to Elm's aide; he'll give you the Mystery Egg. You can then proceed to Union Cave.
-
Did you try talking to Elm first? He gives you the Master Ball and mentions that the Kimono Girls are looking for you (In their theater? Not looking hard are they? =P).
Thanks; I had to talk to Elm first.
-
(Yay, first...)
OK, so I've battled Claire and received the gym badge from the Dragon's Den (which is the requirement for the next item), and now I have to battle the Kimono Girls in Ecruteak City before I can get to Ho-Oh. But they're not in the theatre or in the Tin Tower ... or in the Burned Tower.
Help?

I'm kinda disappointed in how the daycare looks in that thrid image (http://i731.photobucket.com/albums/ww320/Alex_92_photos/HGSSManual2.jpg - 3rd row, 2nd from left). It looks too small ...
-
Oh, OK. I get it now,. I used the English patch with Platinum when it came out.
Just wondering, though, why can't the new Japanese text be translated by using human translation, then coding it into the game?
-
Due to a new tool by loadingNOW, thenewpoketext, the process is actually even easier and better than before. It's as simple as finding which japanese files have already be translated for use in the english versions of DPPt and replacing them with said english version.
I'm not quite understanding you. Do you mean that there are files in the game already programmed in English, for when the English release comes around?

I believe it would just tarnish the legitimacy of the Pokémon.
