  1. Reuniclus was one of the ones i had looked at for a psychic type. I was pretty Disheartened to learn the Porygon(I know he's not psychic but Porygon-z is awesome), Abra, AND Ralts were White Exclusives... Damn you trollfreak. I only have one DSlight so i'll probably settle for Reuniclus or Volcarona.

As you can tell from my teams moveset i usually don't put much competitive strategy into my in game party. I've never really done any hardcore Competitive battling, But i have studied it a great deal on Smogon and elsewhere.

Sturdy... That didn't cross my mind until you said that. I may just have to switch if i don't go with reuniclus. I haven't checked out his brelooms moveset either, So hopefully i wont run into a Spore/Focus punch situation.

  2. My dislike with The whole pidove line came from it's looks even more so than stats. The only elite four member that gave me any real trouble originally was marshal. That's due to half my team being weak to fighting types. I tried to remedy this by giving Stoutland and Zoroark Aerial Ace, but it wasn't really all that effective. especially on Zoroark. And i think Stoutlands OHKO on Hydreigon may have been a crit. Not sure though.

As far as phychic types go the ones i'd actually spend time raising are white version exclusives, and I'm not fond of many GenV psychics. Sigilyph is alright though. I may just teach Volcarona Psychic. It has enough Spcl. atk to make it work and should outrun even his mienshao. His throh should have the highest spcl. def of his team, and even it shouldn't prove too difficult to get around.

  3. I suppose a female Samurott would be pretty awkward due to it's masculine appearance.. but i'm content with every starter i've gotten so far.

Black is probably the first game that i didn't bother raising up a flying type bird. I never had much love for any of the local birds after Pidgeot. I considered swapping out my Stoutland for a bit until his Giga Impact OHKO'd That stupid Hydreigon. But i do plan on having Volcarona learn Hurricane To pick up the slack for my lack of flying type moves. The rest of my team worked wonders against the elite four.

  4. Psshhh, Cynthia is a-okay in my book. I'll take her over Gary Oak any day.

The thing that puzzles me is the Godstone. It being an item that will most likely come into play when/If grey version comes out, and be instrumental in awakening, or possibly bringing a forme change to Kyurem. The awakening theory is pretty much cut and dry. But since Kyurem already physically exists within the world, it's more plausible at this point in time to assume that it should bring about a forme change.

But how? I have two theories.

1-In Grey, Both Reshiram and Zekrom Are locked in a clash that Only Kyurem can stop, But Kyurem being a mindless zombie is unable to help, So to restore the "One tao dragon" The player must seek out the Godstone, Which holds both Yin and Yang, and Make Kyurem hold it, causing him to return to his former state.(Hopefully with a Continuous Power Herb type of ability)

2-The Godstone is created when both the Light Stone and Dark Stone Release their respective Dragons in the presence of Zombie Forme Kyurem. probably just before the big showdown.

Either way, I have a sad feeling that it'll lose it's ice typing. But hopefully not.

  5. Lucky you, Wraith. I've never had the luck to get a female starter, Though a few of my friends have.

Anyway, back on subject, I'm currently Working to raise up my team for the second round against the elite four. I don't want to use Legendaries, but i want to replace sawk(Preferably with another fighting type. Mienshao maybe?) and Zebstrika. Most likely going to choose Volcarona for my final slot.

  6. Hmmm.... I've wracked my brain abit but this is what i've come up with so far:

I'll start at the beginning... Well, the beginning of the pokemon universe that is. According to lore, Arceus, The original one, Hatched from a space egg then created the world as we know it. This story is almost identical to the Story of the Chinese creation deity Pangu.

Via Wikipedia: In the beginning there was nothing in the universe except a formless chaos. However this chaos coalesced into a cosmic egg for about 18,000 years. Within it, the perfectly opposed principles of Yin and Yang became balanced and Pangu emerged (or woke up) from the egg.

Wait, Yin and Yang? Perfectly balanced? This, In my opinion, brings about two options.

1-The original Pokemon Was in fact The Original Tao Dragon, Who created Arceus.

2-Arceus, For one reason or another, gave Physical form/Life to the very force that brought him to be.

Fast forward to the Great Pokemon war.. Possibly the most telling piece of the entire story in regards to speculation about Kyurem. Why? Picture an all out war between two Newly formed Uber Dragons(Chyeah!)... I can't bring myself to believe that a war of such importance was a "Unova Exclusive" war. Something possibly echoed in none other than Johto. Seriouly!

Via bulbapedia: According to the anime, Ho-Oh lived in the Tin Tower in ancient times. When war broke out, burning both the Tin Tower and the Brass Tower down, it created Raikou, Entei, and Suicune, and all four disappeared.

Of coarse being that the above was taken from the anime, it may not apply here at all.. But, I do still believe that Johto does have it's ties to the mystery surrounding Kyurem. Why? Two reason. The Sinjoh Ruins, and Cynthia. Yes, Cynthia. The sinjoh ruins(Which is a rather frigid local) itself has ties to the Alpha Pokemon Arceus, and even Creation itself, As through a special event the player is able to obtain a Lv.1 Sinnoh Dragon Trio member Via Arceus Creating one on the spot. And who is present for the whole thing? Why it's Cynthia, Of coarse. Why? In Pearl/Dia/Plat, Cynthia travels throughout sinnoh researching the legends and myths of the land, Eventually bringing her, in HG/SS, to none other than(Dun Dada DUN!) The Sinjoh ruins!

But wait.. that's in GenIV, Right? and besides, those places i mentioned are waaaaaaaaaay away from unova, According to Nintendo and in game references. Which brings us to question why our dear Sinnoh Ex-champ shows up in Undella town?(Which is conveniently located adjacent to Lacunosa and the giant chasm) Her answer? Research of coarse! but on what? What possible Find could've spurred her to continue her search regarding Sinnohs' legends In unova? Possibly that the "One Tao Dragon" is actually involved in the creation of the Pokemon world? If so, Could Kyurem be the Remains of this "One Tao Dragon"? Following either of my theories of its' possible connection with Arceus, It becomes even the more plausible, As the balance of Yin and Yang seem to fit the bill quite nicely; Thus upon the split and subsequent absence of Yin and Yang(Reshiram and Zekrom), Otherwise known as Wuji(Which Kyurem represents) in Tao tradition, only the corpse of the "One Dragon", Aka Kyurem, Was left.

Okay, So now Kyurem is a dead body... Or maybe..... A ZOMBIE!!!!! (Dramitic gasps) No, I'm Serious. He's a falling apart, flesh eating(according to lore) Cold corpse.. What about that doesn't sound like a Zombie?

So, if Kyurem Was resurrected into a sort of Undead state, Who did it? What Pokemon is known for Bringing Other Pokemon back from the dead? My guess? Ho-oh. A pokemon native to Johto. This Brings me to a crossroads of sorts concerning Kyurem's Icy visage.

1- If Ho-oh was the cause of Kyurem's Zombified state, Is he responsible for the his Ice typing? After all, The legendary beasts embodied the elements related to their initial demise. Is Kyurem's case the same?

2-It is stated in Kyurem's Pokedex entries that the origin of the ice that covers it is generated inside it's own body. This could be due to the void of Yin/Yang within it, Giving a parallel to the Frigid void of space, Where it was to have fallen from.

3-The uber cold temps are relative to its' cold, corpse-like state.

This is all still speculation of coarse, But it makes sense to me. Though i have more to say, i'll save some for later since this is getting pretty lengthy.

  7. I used Pretty much the same team up until the last two battles with N and Ghetsis. Not sure about the Lvs before i entered, but i used Samurott(Xenkai) Mega horn, Dig, Surf, Aqua tail. Stoutland(Roawrah) Crunch, Aerial ace, Strength, Giga impact. Zoroark(Zevira) Shadow ball, Aerial ace, Focus blast, Foul play. Sawk(Zasken) Brick break, Counter, Rock slide, Retaliate. Krookodile(Serthas) Foul play, Dragon claw, Bulldoze, Dig. Zebstrika(Eraios) Discharge, Shock wave, Flame charge, Thunder wave.

Zebstrika was replaced by Reshiram. By the end my teams Lvs were 45-48.

Btw, Wraith, How Long did it take to get the female snivy? :P

  8. I have a very wide range of gaming likes.. Anything i deem challenging or fun really, So i couldn't narrow it down to just one genre. I LOVE Legend of Zelda(Any and all aside from the cdi games), Kingdom Hearts games, F-Zero, Street fighter, Sonic(The side scrolling ones), Mega man, GTAs, And Pokemon of course.

  9. Well, the games themselves state the legendaries can be in multiples.

Firstly, by the fact they can be shiny. There's no such thing as a shiny of a Pokemon if there is only one of that Pokemon. The only Pokemon in our present times that we see no evidence of there being multiples of are Spikey-Eared Pichu, Victini, Zekrom, and Reshiram. Celebi is still up in the air because 1) Even though many have been seen in the same area (anime), they may just be the same Celebi time travelling from different points in time, or 2) it could be shiny from the Japanese Bonus Disc. If tests show it can be, then it is definitive there are more than one Celebi. I still have no idea why Mewtwo can be shiny. >_>

Secondly, in Pokemon Colosseum, players run into the Legendary Beasts + Ho-oh. In xD: Gale of Darkness, the Legendary Birds + Lugia. The birds can also be found in Kanto. Another set of birds also appear in Sinnoh. Also, there are the Crown (Crown City in Korean) shiny versions of the Legendary Beasts.

My theory is that the newly formed Legendary Beasts bred with whatever species they used to be, creating the multiples of the new species, while the older species, already endangered, dwindled in numbers until they are either very sparse and rare and can only be found in very few areas in the world (probably where us players have no current access), or, sadly they may be extinct, like the Spikey-Eared Pichu, anything from fossils, and the bug Genesect used to be.

That's a very good point. Also, I think the fact that the reason that YOU the player cannot breed Legendary pokemon Is because Nintendo Thought it would be to easy If you could raise an army of Legends bred to have near perfect IV/EVs.. It would be tantamount to cheating. But legendaries are shown to breed on the anime. So multiples of the bird trio is a possibility under this logic.

  10. the only problem with that theory is that we still have the legendary bird trio today and the legendary dogs. so that would mean that someone or something would have had to revive the legendary birds and lugia.

oh this is for Sel's post

True, But it's never stated that there are only one of each of the bird trio. And since the legend of the disaster doesn't mention lugia at all, It most likely meant he wasn't present at the exact time of it.. Maybe just hunting nearby? (I imagine Lugia is some sort of predatory bird/dragon). I Read something not long ago though that mentioned a war that caused the fall of the Brass/Bell tower. If i find it again i'll post it, as it may help in figuring this out.

EDIT: Found this at bulbapedia, But it's talking about the anime, So it may not apply here.

"According to the anime, Ho-Oh lived in the Tin Tower in ancient times. When a war broke out, burning both the Tin Tower and the Brass Tower down, it created Raikou, Entei, and Suicune, and all four disappeared. Later, a new Tin Tower was erected, but Ho-Oh since then has never come back for sure."

After using the above, The guy at the pokemart gave me a bad egg. Is this supposed to happen? I don't want to hatch it only to have it be the wrong thing..

  12. Sel is the name i always use for my in game Trainer... or half of my video game characters. I've always Liked it so i though it only appropriate for this forum. xp Didn't realise until about a year ago that it was appeared in gen 2 when regestering an item to Select.

Edit: And no, I don't regret it ^_^

  13. I actually used an Alakazam and Gengar on my 4th playthruogh of crystal. It worked pretty well. Gengar's toxic came in handy not only in game but also in link battles While thunderbolt punished A lot of foes. Alakazam Was bred to have Encore in order to make up for low defenses. It even had it's advantages when needing to switch to Gengar. In terms of which one is better? I can't decide. Depends on the situation. But Gengar in GenII is a rather good addition to any team in my opinion.
