Hi all, after a lot of trial and error I used this thread (and another recommending the use of Burn2Slot instead of GBABF) I managed to inject my save from an Emerald ROM I played on my phone onto a bootleg cartridge. I had huge progress on my cartridge, but suddenly lost everything, as is expected form bootlegs. I am really grateful that I can not continue playing with another savefile instead. Thanks all!
Some remarks:
It really only worked AFTER I started a new game on the cart, got a pokemon, saved twice, but most importantly: OPENED THE BOXES ON PC. It is described perfectly in the original post, but I still missed to do this action and could not get it to work.
Another thing, The Bootleg Injector will get confused if the .gba or .bin file is in a folder that ends in *gba. I think because it will look for a backup file called foldername minus gba plus bak. Just a finding, maybe its useful.
