  1. Sounds like you should make a Dark monotype. Dark types are weak to Bug and Fighting. Both which are resisted by Poison. Poison is only weak to Ground and Psychic, Psychic being rarely used on anything that isn't a Psychic type. :D It'd work so perfectly together with a Weezing to spread around Will-o-Wisp :D. Oh and the only things that would annoy Dark types aside from Bug and Fighting would be Steels. (Weezing isn't afraid of them unless they are specially based... which is rare, or more speciffically a Heatran)

  2. ... I swear I thought I have responded to this post already. Anyways if you're using Ubers you need to know the basics which I will talk abouit below.

Make sure to abuse and prepar for the weather of Rain or Sunny Day in Ubers, as almost everyone uses Kyogre, Groudon or both.

Deoxys-s using a Spiker set makes up for a lot of leads in Ubers, and is partnered up with Mixed Giritina-o. The only used Rapid Spinner in Uber is Forrtress who can 3HKO the standard Giritina-O, but takes damage from Hidden Power-Fire (80% neutral, 40% if it used Draco Meteor and hit something or Rain's up and over 100% with Sunny Day, of course this is all based on the damage of standard sets.)

Ok Dragons such as Dialga and Palkia hit hard and often hsve Fire Blast... Meaning that in most cases Steels are completly unable to switch into them without danger. Also Draco Meteor hits hard to begin with.

Find something that isn't afraid of Kyogre (because of its Drizzle and STAB water moves, Choice Specs 1-2HKO's all things that aren't x4 resistent, Latias/Latios or having Water Absorb with Water Spout... Assuming that Kyogre still has a lot of HP. Thunder and Ice Beam means that the things aren't safe if it predicts well enough. Latias, Latios, Kingdra, and Palkia are some examples of common "counters" to Kyogre.

Latias, Darkrai and Latios need counters, as they can be surprisingly quick special sweepers. Find something that is faster and strong enough to KO these threats before they can KO you. Mewtwo is faster then them all, but needs Selfdestruct to actually KO a healthy Latias/Latios, and can't switch into Darkrai without consiquences of Sleep or 1HKO from Dark Pulse. Palkia can't switch into the Lati twins but can hurt them with Dragon attacks if you're weilding a Scarf, also remember that this is predicatble so Steels would switch in.

I'm so sorry for this sloppy post... I'm not even sure if it helps you in building a team, but I can help you build Uber teams if you want help. PM me for help.

Knowing this... I suggest that you find a way to beat Deoxy-s leads as quickly as possible. Tyranitar can beat it with a STAB dark and Sandstorm that comes after it. Forrtress can hurt it with Paybaclk and Rapid Spin freely even though it won't kill it, it would allow you to not have any Spikes to worry about.

  3. Having both is kind of bad in OU. See there is a lot of Steel types which causes many problems for those two pokes. Sure Honckrow and Absol both learn Superpower, but Steel types have strong physical defense, most of the ones used in OU are neutral because of secondary typing (like Bug/Psychic etc)

Anyways... Honchkrow worked well for me using a lead set of Sucker Punch, Drill Peck, Pursuit/Night Slash and Superpower. Heat Wave could be used over Pursuit for Scizor, Skarmory, Metagross and Skarmory :D I'm not sure if this set still works nowadays though.

Choice Scarf with Brave Bird, Night Slash, Heat Wave and Superpower was a beast in UU... Maybe it'll still be useful in OU.

I'm not sure about Absol, but using it with Gliscor isn't a bad idea. Maybe adding some Steel types with Spikes... and making it into a Semi-stall.

  4. A lot of people seem to have different opinions, but again the "best wall" varies... Thus there technically is no just one best physical, special or mixed wall.

Blissey can has been mentioned the best special wall by a lot of people, and mentioned as one by Smogon... but Snorlax can be a beastly physical attacker who can Whirlwind.

So again, it varies on what the best wall is. People should be talking about what an example of a great wall is.

Btw Arceus is weak to Toxic and also can be set up on by things like Sword Dance Rayquaza, Lucario etc once the moveset is discovered. And Umbreon is also weak to Toxic and well... It can't do much against the common Steels and Fighting types.

  5. You need more Rain Dance users...

For all Rain Dance teams I always recommend these things listed below:

4 (or even more) Rain Dance users (2 with Damp Rock)

4 Swift Swim users (3 is also usable in some Rain teams)

3 or more Life Orb users.

Ok on Kingra try Rain Dance over Ice Beam. Dragon Pulse over Draco Meteor is an option as well.

Never use Muscle Band or Wise Glasses, use Life Orb. Remember this is a Rain Dance team, you're vonuerable without Rain Dance up and with Life Orb you drain away your own health (which usually gets drained more by being attacked anyways) and does A LOT more damage (n my experience you end up taking less damage with Life Orb then without it due to the extra power which can lead to 1HKO's)

I don't reommend Electivire. Electivire likes Cross Chop over Brick Break or Earthquake if you need the other moves.

Jirachi can use Choice Scarf to beat Latias and Salamence better. Also having 3 Steel types in a Rain Dance team actually means that you're weaker to Rotom, Heatran and Water moves...

  6. Building a team around Gyarados is a great way to begin competitive playing.

Yours can either be used as a offensive or Flail Dragon Dancer.

The Flail set is somewhat of a gimmik, surprising, very effective but difficult to set up, especially with Tyranitar's Sandstorm hazard.Flail with Substitute and Liechi Berry has a lot of power, meaning that perhaps even 80% of things are 1HKO'd after Dragon Dance, Liechi Berry and 4% or less HP (Maximun power of 200 for Flail if I remember correctly)

Anyways, Gyarados could work well with Choice Scarf Tyranitar for Latias and Rotom. Gyarados also counters most of Tyranitars counters.

You could use it with Life Orb Jolteon, which is still effective even though predictable sometimes.

It also can be used with Skamory or Forretress. They can set up Spikes which results in Gyarados becomming a very effective Dragon Dance sweeper.

Hm... Basically there is a lot of things that can be used with Gyarados. I could help you build a team whenever your on via MSN.

    >__< I'm busy nowadays I'll be glad to help.

  7. You're very weak to offense. Salamence, Dragon Dance Gyarados, and Sword Dance Lucario wreck your team. Other things like Heatran, Latias and Infernape are also a big problem for you. I recommend that you add a Choice Scarf Metagross somewhere, maybe over Lucario. It can surprise KO things like Lucario and Infernape who wouldn't expect you to be faster. It also is bulky and a very strong hitter. Another thing that you can do is give Swampert Surf or Hydro Pump just to deal a lot more damage to things like Skarmory and Forretress who may not be a threat to your team but can be very annoying. Anyways, I suggest maybe adding some more bulk and things to stop offensive threats. I hope the little advice I gave is helpful though >_<

  8. Btw Sceptile isn't that good for OU usage atm. Due to the majority of Scizor, Heatran, Latias, Metagross, Infernape, Blissey, Skarmory, Forretress, Gengar (apparantly) being able to resist some of it's movesets (depending on what it is using) and counter it, it has less uses in OU. Err this is a bit sloppy, I'll explain it better later if you guys want.

Btw Hidden Power-Fire beats Scizor, Forretress, and hurts Skarmory and Metagross (unfortunatly they can 1HKO it with any move that isn't not very effective) See the thing is Scizor can Bullet Punch for about 82%+.

I think you should go with your Celebi idea, and also consider using Hidden Power-Fire or Earth Power somewere on there for Scizor and Forretress (other things aren't generally hurt enough to be 2-3HKO'd if it's a x2 super effective move) or Earth Power Heatran, Lucario, Metagross, and Infernape (Takes more from Psychic...) :D

  9. You guys need to learn to switch more often.

This was fun battle to read about, maybe you should narrate it a bit more so we can understand some of the reasons for what you guys have done.

You got kind of lucky with him having only physical attackers...

Anyways, great match guys, post some more battles!

  10. Dragonite should use something like

    Adamant @ Lum Berry

    Dragon Dance

    Dragon Claw/Outrage

    Roost/Outrage/Fire Punch

    Earthquake/Fire Punch

Dragon Dance to boost its attack and speed. Dragon Claw is a great STAB move and allows it great coverage with Earthquake. Outrage can be used either instead of Dragon Claw or with it as it grants you with most 1-2HKO and thus increases Dragonites role as a sweeper. I recommend Roost with Dragon Claw and make it a bit of a more defensive set.

Gallade can use a Choice Scarf set. Close Combat, Pyscho Cut, Night Slash, Ice Punch/Stone Edge... Something like that. It's great at hitting hard and revenge killing a lot of things.

I don't recommend Umbreon in OU due to Scizor, Heatran, Skarmory etc. Istead use something that can use Stealth Rock and isn't walled by Skarmory like Heatran.

Use Body Slam over Substitute on Miltank...

For Lanturn I recommend Toxic, Surf, Ice Beam and Thunderbolt, but it's up to you if you use this or not.

Magnezone w/ Substitute, Thunderbolt, Hidden Power-Ice/Grass and Explosion.

Also you could play with Miltank and Lanturn for better resistance to Ground/Fighting attacks. Maybe something that can beat Tyranitar, like Gliscor. Actually Gliscor also helps you beat stall and counter some threats like Lucario :D this is about the 4th time I've recommended it on a RMT.

  11. Nice. Rock Monotype tends to be a lot of fun.

Stone Edge is most likely better on Aerodactly for hitting Gyarados, Salamence and Zapdos. Also it gets 150 Base Power with STAB which is almost as powerful as 160 Base Power if it is super-effective. I understand if the accuracy bothers you.

I recommend using Stone Edge over Earthquake for power and STAB on Regirock.

Omastar likes Hidden Power-Grass more then Electric. This allows it to hit Swampert (who is a threat to Rock types due it being bulky and having Earthquake and Surf to hits Rocks with both of thier weaknesses and defenses.

You should post a war story of you using the team so we good an example of what it can do.

  12. You could use Shoddy Battle to test your team. http://shoddybattle.com/downloads It's a very fast download.

Ok. Obviously you like offense. Most people in competitive play ban Double Team and Garchomp.

Gallade is not too useful Metagross is fine. Gyarados would be better off with Earthquake over Bounce.

Um... If you log on Shoddy maybe some people can assist you. For the rest of the team I would suggest some Stealth Rock users.

Maybe an Azelf with Dual Screen as a lead?

Something that breaks walls like Heatran etc.

  13. Calm Mind Raikou or anything with Choice Specs is a bad idea. I recommend instead that you use Calm Mind with Life Orb.

If you also wanted Gengar in the team that's fine. But find a place where you can add Explosion in there.

Machamp does not need both Rock Slide and Stone Edge. Replace Rock Slide for Payback.

Hm... Anyways you're weak to offense and stall... Maybe you should make it a ballance team with some walls?

  14. Hm. All I have to say is that you need some mixed Rain Dance sweepers (Kingdra, Huntail and check for others too) , so you don't get walled as easily. Also thier recommendations are really good. Your team looks very healthy. Seaking could use Double Edge for more power, and besides, it will most likely get those HP drained by attacks anyways. Aqua Tail is better over Peck so you can do some extra damage in case you need it. Eh, just some suggestions.

  15. Hm... Well a lot of Uber battlers lead with a Spiker Deoxys-s, Spiker Forretress, and also use Mixed Giritina-o with it, which means Semi-stall.. I would recommend trying to stop Deoxys-s as fast as possible, or have a handy Rapid Spinner (Forretress) but because Giritina-O has Hidden Power-Fire it generally does either, 40, 80, or 100+%ish... Using things that counter it which should not be too hard because it lacks Leftovers or any other recovery except for Rest and Pain Split which are not too usable on it. Tyranitar, Dialga, faster Dragons... Beat that, and often have Fire moves to make it difficult for switch ins. Be sure to have a reliable special wall. And err, ask me for help making anUber team, I'm the advice person.

  16. On Mamoswine I really recommend using Jolly with Endeavor, Earthquake, Stealth Rock and Ice Shard on the lead versions. Also Choice Scarf Tyranitar is too common nowadays, and you should consider using Grass Knot on one of the moves on Latias. In fact I would not recommend Latias at all. Forretress is better off with Explosion over Gyro Ball. You really should try using a Ghost with Spikes, so that Rapid Spin doesn't blow away your Spikes. Blissey should use Seismic Toss in every set. You could use Thunderwave, Softboiled, and Flamethrower... Heracross needs a better team with Flying counters... And a lot of other things that I could recommend, but feel a bit sick right now T.T

Hm... Over all your Stall weak and offensive weak. Sword Dance Lucario, Sword Dance Scizor, Dragon Dance Gyarados... Some other things all can cause a lot of damage to your team. I am not so good with recommendations, but you should test a Gliscor. Also your team is a ballanced team, but it lacks any general strong point, synergy and well a I would recommend that you rebuild this team... Sorry if I seem mean with my criticism.

Contact me if you want help rebuilding your team.

  17. Registeel... is a good wall, but Grounds are a big issue to him, in OU there is a lot of steels in which easily set up on him, and he simply fails to do enough damage. However he can cripple things with Thunderwave and Toxic Spikes hinders Grounds ^^ One of the few things that can use Rest without Sleep Talk. Thus my overall opinion on it is that it's great, but also needs to be used in thought of teams, not ones where you just spam something like Scizor or Tyranitar. Btw, just because something is an unbreakable wall, doesn't mean that it's good. I'll explain later.

Well... When it comes to walls, Gliscor is one of the best physical walls. He has some great resistances and only two weaknesses, Water and Ice. Both who are usually kept on defensive Water pokes, and usually very obvious to predict. Because most Water attacks are on non offensive pokes he can afford to take a hit, and Roost halves the damage of Ice Beam if he's faster for the turn. He's greatness is to counter some threats and occasionally stop stall.

  18. His team isn't super weak to Stealth Rock, Spikes, or Toxic Spikes. On Zapdos I would recommend either using a Calm set with Thunderwave, or Timid with Substitute+Roost+Toxic, and Thunderwave and maybe even Discharge. Latias can even run a Life Orb and Recover set, using Hidden Power-Fire, Grass Knot, and Dragon Pulse. It works well, and surprises Scizor, Forretress, Lucario and some other things sometimes. Grass Knot 2HKOs standard Tyranitar. I recommend Life Orb and Sword Dance on Lucario. This is an offense team, meaning that most Choice users should be used to revenge kill, which means Choice Scarf Heatran. Also Lucario adds great physical offense =} Suicune can use Calm Mind and 3 attacks or Calm Mind, Rest, Surf, and Sleep Talk/Roar. Gengar can also use Life Orb with Explosion too. Anyways I hope this helped...

Btw Zapdos doesn't learn Reflect and has no need for Extrasensory.
