I'm using an emulator. Can PkHex actually differentiate between an emulator save file and VC save file?

PkHex is claiming that the virtual console event Mew is illegal. This is the Mew literally downloaded from the event database on this website:

Ok figured it out. It was the Terafinder plugin. It's not part of the plugin pile so I had to update from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4.

I downloaded all of the plugins from the latest Pkhex Plugin Pile. How do I know which one isn't working? These are only 3 days old https://github.com/foohyfooh/PKHeXPluginPile/releases/tag/1.8.1

Ahh...ok thanks! That's what I wanted to know. So basically Pokemon created with Pkhex can't be legal. Not unless you RNG a possible seed and copied the values I guess. Unfortunately there is no RNG Reporter for PLA

My question is whether a generated Pokemon would be indistinguishable from an RNG'd Pokemon if edited correctly in Pkhex and then given a rerolled PID and EC?

I see, so the first pokemon spawned in the group in a distortion might have an origin seed, but not the second. Hence why Espeion might have the origin seed but not Eevee? So my question is how do we make it legal? Lets say I have a mon that I've caught in game and then edited in Pkhex. I changed the nature and IV's, rerolled the PID/EC and Pkhex says it's legal, there are no flags. But is it ACTUALLY legal? Because this would not account for stuff like origin seed and if it were actually possible to encounter a Pokemon with these stats at that time/location in the game, correct? So technically, if some software investigated far enough they'd see it's not legal? Or is there no way to trace that? IIRC the whole point of RNG Reporter was to generate valid seeds and PIDs so that the edited mon would match what could have actually been caught in the game at that date/time with that TID/SID etc. Pkhex doesn't have anything built-in to it's system like that as far as I know.

Interesting. I can see how that works for fixed/static Pokemon that are guaranteed spawns, but what about the Espeon I caught in a space-time distortion, that's not a guranteed spawn so why does that have a seed as opposed to the Eevee caught in the same distortion? Also, this may be a dumb question, but if Pkhex reroll doesn't account for legal value correlations in PID-IV, what's the point? How would I go about making my mons legal then? RNG Reporter hasn't been updated since 2017.

So I've noticed that some Pokemon that I've caught have a PID Type of None and no origin seed. Whereas others will have a PID Type of Xoroshiro and an origin seed. This is true even for Pokemon caught in the same way. For example, I caught an Espeon in Legends Arceus in a space-time distortion and it had a PID of Xoroshiro and an origin seed. However, I later caught an Eevee in a space-time distortion and it's PID was None with no origin seed. What does this mean and why the discrepancy? If I were to reroll the PID and Encryption Constant of the Espeon would that make it illegal now? Do Pkhex rerolls account for PID Type and Origin Seed?

Is there any way to generate space-time distortions through Pkhex by editing the save file? I'm on the hunt for an Alpha Ramparados but it's extremely rare and I'm tired of waiting 40 minutes for a distortion to appear every time.

They show a PID type as "none" when I hover over them in PKHeX so I don't think I need to use the overworld8 option or anything in the IV-Searcher?

I've been trying to edit Max Lair Legendary Pokemon using the IV Searcher Pkhex Plugin, but whenever I use the Max Lair option to generate a PID/EC/HT/WT it gives me the "Invalid: Unable to match an encounter from origin game" illegal Pokemon error once I make the edit. However, if I instead select the "Raid Dens" option and generate the PID/EC/HT/WT that way the Pokemon appears to be legal. Is this correct? It doesn't make sense to me since I thought you're supposed to use the Max Lair option for Max Lair legendaries....

Pkhex fails to flag paradox Pokemon as illegal if you change their game version. For example, I changed my Iron Hands to be from Scarlet instead of Violet and PkHex still considers it legal.

PKHeX is telling me that my Ogerpon is still legal after changing it's Nature from Lonely to anything else. That should not be the case. Ogerpon is ALWAYS Lonely and always has an IV spread of 31/31/20/20/20/31. PKHeX correctly identifies that it is illegal if you change the IV's, but not the nature. It should flag any Ogerpon with a nature other than Lonely as illegal.
