    string buffers are allocated and reused, meaning that the previous usage of that memory may have had data (not zeroes).

    renaming a pokemon does not clear the buffer, so longer nicknames will remain hidden underneath the new nickname & terminator.

    for generation 4+ encounters, you are fine grabbing from the database without modification; gens 1-3 do have trash bytes that are poorly understood, but don't matter when transferred to recent games (cleared/reset).

    How do we fix trash byte error? I got a Tepig from the encounter database and turn it into an egg. However, I keep getting the error "Invalid: Nickname: Expected Trash Byte: Tepig" and have no idea how to resolve it. Please help :(

    The game is probably sanity checking and reverting the hacked stats. Nothing you can do.

    Oh dear, that's very unfortunate. Anyway, tysm for the clarification.

    P.S. I tested this on Pokemon Scarlet Violet for anyone who's wondering. You can, however, max out all EVs without any problems😊

    Today you can simple rename the .exe file to "pkhax.exe" and have both

    Thank you! By any chance, do you know how I can edit the stat values of my Pokemon to 999 without it reverting back to the original value? I followed the steps provided but still not getting the desired results. Pkhex would show that the values are indeed 999, however the edited value isn't reflected when viewed in game.

  4. So I followed your steps, edited the stats of a pokemon that was already in my party to 999 then set and export save immediately without viewing the edited party slot. But the stats seem to have reverted back to the original values when I viewed it in game. What am I doing wrong? @Kaphotics

    It would be easier to get someone to make files and let them have a valid HOME tracker, then extract those files, pass it to you, then get sysbot to trade it to you

    That’s one scenario I can think of off the top of my head

    In a separate post by Kaphotics, he/she mentioned that:

    • HOME can possibly check tracker values to see if the details are on another user's account (cloned data).

    So even if you have a valid HOME tracker on any Shiny Legendary from Gen 7 or below, isn't it unsafe/risky to transfer because it might get detected as cloned data? For any pokemon to be assigned a valid HOME tracker, it must have been placed on HOME in the first place. They would have stored this Pokemon's data tied to an assigned HOME tracker.

    Future daily seeds (those 64-bit ones) are not predictable. Game saves only current and next one, future ones are generated in a cryptographically secure manner. However even if there was a way you would still need a seed from your save and accessing that requires a hacked Switch. There's no way to get around that requirement except joining shiny raids hosted by other people from their hacked consoles.

    Typically you just use Raid Editor in PKHeX to edit seed values for desired dens. Keep in mind that dens change every day, so pay attention to your clock. Connecting to the Internet also refreshes dens.

    I'm on PKHex right now and editing the seed values but how do I pinpoint the location of the raid I've edited? There is no GUI or description for the raid numbers. The areaID and spawn point ID don't say much about its exact location...

    Yeah, the auto legality basically makes a legal pokemon, usually makes them "born from egg" (if available) that makes it easier to legalize.

    Moveset will usually give it 1 or 2, but if you are importing many, just use batch editor

    .moveset=$suggested

    And if you want to import many just make a list and leave a space between them and you can even load boxes, or make a complete dex

    Tysm! The method you suggested worked perfectly. Is there a faster way to gen pokemon that I need in order to complete the pokedex? I'm still figuring out how to use the batch editor to make a complete dex but I don't know the command for that.

    If there's a guide on how to use the batch editor, please let me know. Otherwise, I'd really appreciate your help.

    Also, by "importing", do you mean "gen-ing" my own pokemon into box? How do I import many at once?

    I tried to gen a pokemon using data from another pokemon that already existed in my box. For example, a level 100 tinkatuff and I typed in Pikachu, then I applied the auto-legaility mod but got the error message saying that it's an invalid moveset. How do I make it work? :(

    i made it legal easily, with the plugin.

    just make a trainer folder on Pkhex folder

    drop a pk9 file on trainer folder

    open pkhex, open your save, select your pokemon and click on

    tools--> showdown --> extract to showdown

    tools --> auto-legallity mod -->Import with auto-legallity mod

    and voila

    Hello. Thank you for sharing. However, there's no option named "extract to showdown", only "extract set/party/current box to clipbox". What might you be referring to?
