Dk Gymnast
So I was playing my SS, I was doing the speed course in the pokathlon and the big blue screen came up and said save file will be erased because of corrupted or damage! What happened! I am so frickin mad! It was my first game to have a black triner card and I had every event pokemon/path! Is there any way to recover it? Riolu Aura Sphere Now
Once your Game Save File is corrupted or damage, the chances are that your Game Save File will deleted and if this happens, you will not be able to recover it, but if you are using a ROM, you can use your Back Up Game Save File or just restart the game with another Game Save File. randomspot555
Since the 3rd gen, game carts save TWICE. So your backup save file will load if your primary save file gets corrupted. If you managed to corrupt BOTH of your save files, you've done something to your cart.
Guest
I personally think the 1st and 2nd gens do make a backup save. I tried heaps of time to intentionnaly corrupt the save file by shutting off while saving, but it always loaded the previous save file anyway. Wichu
1st and 2nd generations don't have a backup save. They just don't store a checksum in the save either, so they don't know that you've corrupted it (and allow you to continue as normal). Also, I believe that some flashcarts don't save a backup (my brother's Supercard Slot-2 doesn't), so if you lose your save on one of those, you're screwed. If you're playing on a real cart, it shouldn't happen.
