Trade Evolution on Emulator

I tried asking this in the emulation forum, but got no response.

Anyway, I'm playing SoulSilver via emulator(DeSmuME), and an obvious problem with that is that I can't trade with others to evolve certain Pokemon (specifically the Haunter I use). I've tried playing around with Pokesav to see if I could force an evolution, but while the Pokemon's sprite and name changed from Haunter to Gengar, it's stats remained the same.

What should I do? I'm quite new to all this.

Just use Pokesav and SAV yourself an epic Gengar

I don't really know how to though. Is this the sort of thing you can make a request for?

it is its the pokemon sub-form you are looking for called Pokemon Requests its for people who either can't figure out how to use pokesav (like me) or who don't have the equipment to use pokesav

You can't just change it from Haunter to Gengar and just expect to be finished.

You have to go to STATS and hit the max all to refresh the stats.

It's that, or you can deposit your gengar into your PC, as the stats are recalculated or something there.
