Need help with saving a corrupted FireRed .sav file.

Hello! I recently purchased a GB Operator and made copies of my ROM and SAV file on my computer from my FireRed cart to be able to shiny hunt on multiple screens at once. It worked like a charm, I used mGBA. Its been a few weeks now and I go to boot up my file and it wont recognize the save, in fact all the software ive tried to use wont recognize it. I didnt change anything about the save file until today when I renamed it a few times (kept the .sav extension, did not edit that). Please let me know if its pooched or can be recovered, Thank you so very much  found a shiny Dratini on it that I would hate to lose.

That file is empty (filled with FF).

I know, when opened in notepad that's all it shows. What could have caused this and is there any way to recover it?
