So I started using PKHeX version (20250609) cause i wanted to check the legality of some of my older pokemon and i was testing it with my daughter's save. so for pokemon she catches (Pic Attached) i get the green check mark. and for pokemon she has gotten in trades like the one from me  that i caught for her during the grass pokemon encounters (pic attached) she gets this error "Invalid: handling Trainer does not match the expected trainer name". but I noticed that the name for both at the top of the window says [PKHex(Violet)] and when i had a friend check it who had a older version with another pokemon that we were concerned about it, had a check mark on his PKHeX version (20241111) but in the brackets it showed the trainer name of the pokemon and not PKHeX.

You didn't load a save file. The program provides a blank save file if you don't.

When you import a PKM to the save file, the PKM remembers who is currently handling it. If the current handler data does not match the save file that is currently handling it, you get the message.

Older versions of the program (your third screenshot) did not have this check.

Future versions of the program (not yet released) will relax the check for blank save files, as people using blank saves will be using trade bots/other people injecting it into their save files, which both methods /should/ update the handler automatically upon setting to save/RAM.

i understand that i haven't uploaded a save and if it is remembering who is handling it when why does it work for the scatterbug which is the same current handler as the traded pokemon. but does not get this error. is it because the Lastest (OT) handler is blank since it wasn't a traded pokemon?

If it cannot match the encounter, then there is something wrong with the Met data, like it being hatched from an egg at the wrong level, or not available for capture at a certain level.

Cases like that are usually if people join a friend's union circle, who is cheating in invalid pokemon to spawn, and the visitor captures the "impossible" spawn.

The Capsakid i caught legitimately through the Grass Outbreak event and i traded to her I didn't use union circle for the trade. the scatterbug she caught. the snivy was from a wonder trade. I did use a trade bot to get the pk9 files for the pokemon to check their legality. it's just weird to me that a non traded pokemon gives the check mark. but a legit pokemon traded to another game doesnt. But i guess i'll just wait for the newer version.

Grass Outbreak event

When was the program last updated? June 9th.

PKHeX has a development ("nightly") build with the most recent changes, but it is not recommended for general use:
