Lostful Posted June 26 Posted June 26 I am new to Pokémon emulation and pkhex, however I have had no issues up until this point of using pkhex. I am currently playing on emerald, emulating through VirtualBoy emulator, I exported my save file it to pkhex and edited my save file with everything I needed. the issue is when I try to export the file from pkhex, it only saves the file under "all files" or under "SAV3E" file, neither of which allow me to import the file back into the emulator, as it needs to be a .sav file, I just don't have that option. I have done everything, ensured it is under Pokémon emerald, and tried installing several times using multiple methods. this is very frustrating, and I have not gotten any clear answers on how to fix this.
Kaphotics Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Show a screenshot of what you are exporting, because you're likely doing it wrong. Saving it with the file filter of "All Files" does not prevent you from saving it with whatever file name you wish to save it as. The file extension doesn't matter at all unless the console needs a specific filename; for Gen3, there is no filename as you're restoring it to the cartridge SRAM chip. Emulators do not care about file names.
Lostful Posted June 26 Author Posted June 26 this is the exact way I've seen it done in every video covering this, but instead of there being a .sav option like there was for everyone else, this is all I get. no matter how I save it, it is not able to be re exported into my game.

The difference is your operating system (windows) by default hides file extensions. VBA has an import backup memory dialog that can accept any file you tell it to import, btw.
