''NEW'' GLITCH DISCOVERED??? (PC Boxes full of Phantom L100 Dittos)

Love the website, but I'm new to the community!

So pardon me if I'm wrong but I think I did a glitch that's not documented/known anywhere else besides, as far as I looked, here (and that was 15 years ago and on emulation, mine is on 100% real and authentic hardware)

Here's a little backstory:

My girlfriend and I recently got back into the old Pokemon games, we want to get a full Living Pokedex in the first 3 Gen and last weekend, we finally completed our Living Dex in Yellow (Yay! :D). So naturally we immediatly got started on Gen II, (we got 1 Crystal, 2 Gold and 2 Silver, we want a Living Dex in Crystal and just a full Pokedex in 1 the G/S and the two other ''throwaway G/S are to help with the Mystery Gift hunt). She started Crystal while I started Silver. So far, so good. So during the week, I got into the whole Player ID thing on the other carts to maximize my chances of getting all the Gifts as fast as possible and rebooted the games for 2 hours until I was satisfied with the Gifts overlapping/odds.  So I started the ''throwaway'' Gold cartridge until I get to Carrie, (Because the sole purpose of that cart, are Mystery Gifts/Extra Items) and when I was done I ended up with my PC Boxes 5 to 14 full of L100 Dittos all named 9999999999. (So 180 Ditto total)

MY THEORY ON HOW IT HAPPENED:

What I think could've triggered that is, I was playing on Super Gameboy (SNES) and when I got to Carrie, she told me I needed a GBC to be able to use the Mystery Gift feature. So I saved the game, turned off the SNES and I put the game in my GBC (or in an N64 Transfer Pak on PS2, I'm not 100% sure but I think it was the GBC...) booted it up, talked to Carrie again. She gave me the usual GBC dialogue about the Mystery Gift and then I either turned off the GBC and put it in Stadium 2 or just quit the game in Stadium 2 and went to the main menu to receive the gift from PS2. When I got to the menu, it told me that I hadn't talk to Carrie yet, like I hadn't just done that. I don't remember all the exact steps but I remember vividly being scared that I had just lost my 2.5 hours save file, so I quickly booted the game once more and my save file was intact, I talked to Carrie once more, she gave me her regular dialogue, went back to the main menu of Stadium 2 and received my gift like normal and that was it for the day. Until last night when I got a Lens Scope in this Gold cart via PS2, I wanted to put it on a Pokemon and transfer it to Crystal (our main cart) but it wasn't in my Pack (where I had put it) nor was it in my PC, found that strange. So I decided to go to my Pokemon to see if it hadn't been given to one of the Pokemon in my party and that's when I noticed that Box 5 to 14 were full of L100 Dittos.

The Dittos are playable on Stadium 2 but they don't show up in the regular Gold gameplay. In the game, I just have BOX 5-14 with ''| 5/20'' Pokemon in them. Plus I realized that night that, in my Item menu, while playing Gold I could go lower than the ''Cancel'' option and had two ''Phantom'' Items also. One was just empty (Probably the glitched Lens Scope) but the other Phantom had the description of the Machine Part. On Stadium 2, I only had one phantom item and I could transfer it to/from the PC. That's all I tested. Then I got to bed and this morning the phantom items had disappeared (probably something to do with the Mystery Gift 24h cycle) but the Dittos are all still there.

I'm going to receive my GB Operator from Epilogue either next week or the week after and I'll upload the save file if people want to check it out and try to figure it out, until then, I'm not gonna play further on that cart besides getting/sending the Gifts. Also, I'll try to replicate this on my ''throwaway'' Silver that I haven't started yet.

If you have any question, don't hesitate, I'll answer them to the best of my abilities. I don't know if this could become a major breakthrough into an exploit or something but that would be cool!

(Sorry about the last picture, I took it just before going to bed, my gf suggested I took a pic of it JUST IN CASE it would disappear and well, it did lol, so I'm glad I did.)

The "9" character is just 0xFF, the maximum value for a byte. An ID of FFFF is 65535.

Probably just data corruption that FF'd a chunk of your save data.

Ok, I get that my save file got corrupted but is there a way to know why/how it happened, I was palying totally normally...

And do you think there is a way that it could become useful in cloning or maximizing/transferring stats, leveling to L100 faster or whatever?? (I don't know much about programming/glitch/hacks... Is there something that I should try?)
