Using shiny cheat for PLA [does it mean legal?]

So apparently making shines in pkhex for a PLA save will make them illegal even though pkhex deems them legal as the mons have a PIDIV relationship that it currently unknown (i think?)

 

What about using a shiny cheat instead? For example there is a cheatslip code that will spawn shiny pokemon:

040A0000 00F94570 D503201F
040A0000 00F94574 5280002F 

 

Is it the same thing (as in them being illegal) or are they legal pokemon going this route?

The PIDIV relationship is not unknown, it's just infeasible to implement as a real-time check.

Programs like etumrepMMO are able to reverse a Pokémon to an origin seed, but it requires a non-negligible amount of compute to find the seed.

Cheat codes that make all wild pokemon shiny change the behavior of the game when it generates pokemon (to not loop for PID and instead force shiny); this behavior difference will result in pokemon that do not follow the correlation, and thus won't be legal.

Thanks, do you have much experience using that or should I ask somewhere else? I have used permuteMMO by placing my main file next to the .exe and got these results:

 

 

It gives me the seed IVs and nature, but not the PID or EC if it's even needed. Does etum do that for me? How can I do that?

PermuteMMO is designed to be an RNG aid, and only shows the information necessary to RNG abuse and get a target result for specific spawner types. It is not designed to provide you information to just cheat the result.

There isn't any tool to search for arbitrary shinies.

Ok thanks, another question. Using the encounterdb for non shiny alpha pokemon would be legal correct? assuming i don't mess with the IVs nature etc or do I need to catch those in game as well?

thanks, i forgot that i can roll for shiny pokemon as well through the EDB, i assume they are legal as well right? however I can only seem to roll for squares and not stars. i know stars are rarer for wild pokemon but is it possible to roll for stars at all? not that i am actually going to do it as it would take too long but just curious.
