Rothal Posted yesterday at 02:08 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:08 AM Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I use auto legality mod and completely understand that you have to make your custom trainer folder for it to populate when you gen the mons. I have scarlet but I want to gen mons from violet. can you use the same TID/SID for both games? I assume no since that is very unique and can get flagged online. If the answer is no, can I ever gen a pokemon from the opposite game like say, with a random TID/SID or do i have to somehow figure out real information (ie, making a new game on my friends violet version and grabbing that SID/TID from that save file to use for myself)? If all of this is possible, can I use the bots to generate that pokemon which only appears in violet to trade it to myself in scarlet (if i made it properly in pkhex with the proper game version and the SID/TID generated from the save I would have made on my friends game)? Im sorry if this is all convoluted. Im just trying to figure out of there is a way I can get pokemon i need from violet on my scarlet game and how to go about it if its possible. Thanks in advance for the input!

But anyone who looks at your data will immediately know it's not legitimate -- TID/SID is 1-4billion odds to get the exact same. Players have been disqualified from VGC because they reused trainer data across versions. So the real question, should you? No. If you want something to be as legal as possible, then you shouldn't be taking shortcuts only possible via cheating. Get a legitimate trainer for the version you want. Trade bots can dump pkm files, and trade bots can trade pkm files. Trade bots can also generate if you provide trainer data via their request formats.

In your second paragraph, I dont understand what you mean by bots being able to dump pkm files. I have used the bots plenty times to generate the pokemon i built on PKhex, so if this is what you mean by bots being able to trade pkm files, then I get it. Im still confused as to the answer to my question though. More below. If all i want is to get pokemon from a version of a game I dont own, what would be the correct way to do it so that I can trade it to myself after building it in Pkhex and traded via bots? For examples sake, I own scarlet, when in PK hex, do I set it in options to violet instead of scarlet, then build the violet version mon, with a proper sid/tid made in-game (example, through my friends copy of violet), and then trade it to myself via a bot like usual? PS. I only have custom trainer data for pokemon scarlet. On the "How to create custom trainer" tutorial, it said that you have to create a custom trainer for every gen the pokemon is available. I didnt quite understand this. I currently only have one custom trainer created and its for scarlet. Can you explain what it means when it says that you need a custom trainer for every gen? Here is the article and the part im referring to is in 4th paragraph. If Im understanding correctly, what it means is that if you didnt purposely select a mon that came from Scarlet (ie, the encounter table on pkhex that shows not only the ones you can encounter in scarlet, but also other versions), and you dont have custom trainer IDs for that particular mon from another version, it will say pkhex when generated. So, since all of my mons ive created so far have been from the encounter table of scarlet, this doesnt apply to me correct? To obtain an encounter from a given Version, you should have trainer data available for that Version. Otherwise ALM will fabricate it by reusing TID/SID and changing Version. Reusing trainer data is not legal. 7 hours ago, Rothal said: So, since all of my mons ive created so far have been from the encounter table of scarlet, this doesnt apply to me correct?
