blockhead16 Posted September 30 Posted September 30 Hi everyone, I had a copy of Pokemon alpha sapphire which I still have powersaves backup files for, the cartridge and my console were stolen in 2019 and I've just bought myself a console again which I'm planning to mod, can someone tell me if i can restore that save file without the physical cartridge? I found a link to a method that can decrypt the binary file from powersaves apparently so it can be used with pkhex, but after that I'm unsure what to do to get the Pokemon to my 3ds (modded), i would appreciate any help as this is the first time I'm doing any of this and it's a very sentimental save file for me so any advice is appreciated!
Kaphotics Posted September 30 Posted September 30 Nope. You need the original cartridge, as Powersaves backups do not contain the cartridge-specific data needed. 1
blockhead16 Posted October 1 Author Posted October 1 Ah okay, online i saw that i might be able to open the save file in pkhex, would there be a way to copy the Pokemon somehow to any other game/digital copy? Basically is there anything at all I can get from the powersaves backup file ;-;
Kaphotics Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Nope. What you saw online is a method to obtain a "key" to decrypt the save file, but doing so requires the cartridge. Which you do not have. Powersaves backups are useless without the original cartridge. 1
