deokindet Posted September 16 Posted September 16 Hello guys! I read the technical document "Relevance of HOME tracker ( HOME v2.0.0, v3.0.0, and beyond)" and after that made some tests that brought me some doubts. 1. I got a file with all pokemon with home trackers here in project Pokemon.org. 2. Got some gen3 pokemon (.pk3 files) that never have visited home before, and put directly in pkhex on a sword save file. 3. Copied the tracker I found on internet and paste to my pokemon. Almost all immutable values are different (PID, Nature, origin game, iv, OT etc) except for the specie and if it's shiny. 4. Sent to HOME. Pokemon HOME accepted all the pokemon. How is this possible? I thought you couldn't edit the immutable values. With that, I could bring all my old pokemon to switch without passing them through Poke bank. How does home tracker really work in that case?
Kaphotics Posted September 16 Posted September 16 SW/SH->HOME for bad/missing trackers isn't blocked. Why? Only GameFreak knows. Could be a honeypot, could be an omission, but that's the behavior. Again, only applies to things that can exist in SW/SH. Is it safe to abuse? No; surely GameFreak has the logs and could action it any time they want, but it's been like this for multiple years.
