changes in pkhex dont work

so I tried to modify my pokemon Y file in PKHex but when i start up the game it doesnt have any of the changes made

First make sure to set the modified Pokemon back to the slot.

Also make sure to import the correct save back to your console/emulator (not any backup file) and (if on emulator) load the game normally, don't try to load a save state.
