Good afternoon! My savefile in Pokémon Y is corrupt and I'd like to know if it's salvageable. I believe it might have been the anticheat that broke it as I performed a game update without thinking, then saved, then turned the game off - and after this was when it told me it was corrupt.

I've tried exporting the save via Checkpoint (resulting "main" file currently attached to this post) and starting a new game then attempting to import the save over the new one with Checkpoint, but it's still corrupt. I've also tried removing the game patch via 3DS system settings and rinse/repeat, but got the same result again.

I moved the "main" file to my computer and tried opening it with PKHex, which returns "Invalid save file loaded. Aborting."

I've tried the Partial Savefix Tool, which just says "This file size matches one of Pokemon XY saves."

Is there any possible way to fix the file, or at even retrieve my Pokémon to use on a new save? Or is the savefile totally bricked?

Apologies if I've made a silly mistake somewhere, I've never tried "looking behind the scenes" at the games before in my life so savefile management is all a bit of a blind spot for me.

Cheers and thanks in advance if anyone has advice :^)

Try this :)

Sterling!!!! It works beautifully, thank you so much! I don't know how you did it but I'm keeping the backup safe just-in-case and will be backing up lots in future.

If you have any advice on how to avoid breaking the save/how you fixed it I'll happily take it on board, but this is more than enough, you're a star. Very kind, thank you for going out of your way!

(And yes, nothing major lost from those boxes in any case. Thank you <3)
