Mikey626
Hi, First time using this site, apologies if this post is in the wrong place. I recently purchased a GB Operator and backed up my physical Pokemon Gold save file. Today when going to my (in game) PC to change out my party I've realised the pokemon in the PC have become corrupted, this must have occured before I backed up the save file without my noticing and to my knowledge I have no way to recover any previous snapshot. The only "glitch" I can think that could have caused this was trading a shiny Ditto from Yellow, otherwise the save file has done nothing other than regular play. I've seen other posts that have managed to recover corrupted save files, but couldn't find anything relating to recovering pokemon from a corrupted PC. Unfortunately, this has resulted in me losing my main party, which isn't a huge loss, but I did have a random shiny Tauros that I found during my playthrough. I'd rather not have to hack this Tauros back into existence, so if anyone who happens across this post has any suggestions or is able to help I would greatly appreciate it! Many thanks, Mikey Pokemon - Gold Version (USA, Europe) (SGB Enhanced).sav
theSLAYER
Taking a shiny Ditto from Yellow shouldn’t have caused the glitch. Can you confirm that the issue is indeed in your cart, not just in the save dump? (Also don’t restore the save just yet)
Mikey626
Thanks for the reply. I have loaded the save onto 2 seperate cartridges and run them on both a console and the GB reader and all see the same issue. If that's what you're asking?
theSLAYER
No, I’m expressively telling you *not* to restore the corrupted save to the carts. Just in case, has your original cart (where the save came from) not been overwritten?
Mikey626
My apologies, I misunderstood. Yeah the cart that originally had the save was overwritten with a different save file, it was when I reinstated the save with the corruption I realised the issue.
