Old save, new game.

Hello everyone. 
So my switch was stolen last week along with 4 Pokemon games, hurt bad.
I thought it was all lost but I remembered I had made a save file on an old switch!!!

I just bought a new version of Violet today sealed.
Can I inject my old save right into this game or do I need to do anything first?

i believe my save is at the beginning of the first DLC.

 

(i tried to look for this topic but didn’t see anything so I apologize if this has already been brought up)

With custom firmware you can import any save file you like. If it was a manual backup without using custom firmware, then it's not of any use.

Just import your old "main" like you would restore an edited save.
