CowsRPog Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 I'm using the pokemon black full unova dex rom hack and am trying to modify the shiny rates. All the things i find online say that i need to go to a hex editor (im using crystaltile 2) and change the bit in 00018DF0 that has 08 to FF. However, when i bring it up, i get this row: What should i do to increase the odds?
theSLAYER Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 Try reading this. I’ve tried breaking stuff down.
CowsRPog Posted January 27, 2024 Author Posted January 27, 2024 When i try to open the nds file system, it's blank. Is there somehting i have to do first?
CowsRPog Posted January 28, 2024 Author Posted January 28, 2024 No this is happening after ive loaded the rom into it. Is i happening because its a rom hack and not the original game? because it is a .nds file

Try perform this hack to the base ROM, then patch it with the ROM hack, then launch the game and see if it works.
CowsRPog Posted January 29, 2024 Author Posted January 29, 2024 All of the steps work, but when i try and patch the file it gives me an error saying the source file is incorrect, is there something to stop this?
theSLAYER Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 This is an alternative I’ve been meaning to try (so that I can test and verify and modify the tutorial) but haven’t gotten around to it. Try it for the already patched file
CowsRPog Posted January 30, 2024 Author Posted January 30, 2024 How do i open the rom in the project? I added the rom in the startup menu but i dont know how to get the rom so i can edit it.
