blutrane Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 (edited) with my limited understanding of the RNG I understand that PIDs are partially created based on the date and time. So how is it that pokesav and legal checker do not take this into account when making or verifying a Pokemon. It also seems that PIDs are not generated based on ID and SID in pokesav. Is this a huge problem? How can I take this into account when trying to make legal caught and legendary Pokemon thanks.. palkia3.pkm Edited February 11, 2010 by blutrane
randomcouchpotato Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 they dont take the date into account because with the right delay you can get virtually any PID you want
Guardna Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Pokesav doesn't generate 100% accurate PID because it's much faster than taking into account the correct set of IVs/nature.
Sabresite Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Actually, the RNG is seeded with the date/time when you turn on your machine. Like randomcouchpotato said, delay can change it to virtually anything. So could advancing the RNG using other methods than just finding Pokemon. And, there is no way to determine how long the DS has been on. Maybe someone likes to keep it plugged in and on standby instead of turning it off.
