Does anyone know if the Powersaves code for shinifying a pokemon by changing their PID makes all the recipient pokemon share the same PID?
or does it like increment the current PID until it hits a shiny one

Many thanks!

I can’t remember, but it might be changing the SID instead.

That's what another of their codes does. For ORAS onward though they added one that keeps the associated SID and only modifies the PID of the pokemon

Ah right. To be fair I haven’t used powersaves a lot in a long time. You could try it out and report back, I don’t have my powersaves on hand :(

I haven't gotten around to installing CFW on my 3DS for fear of breaking it 😅 so I was wondering if anyone else had already tested it

You don’t need CFW for powersaves? Only thing you need to make sure is to back up the save a few times before on PS before you try anything

I'd need CFW to check the PID of the pokemons though, unless there's a way to do that in-game

After enlisting the help of a kind internet stranger with CFW, this is what I got from cloning an alolan rattata and caterpie and applying the respective codes on separate clones.
So one nice thing to note: the PIDs are different!
I'm not too familiar with pokémon data, but it is interesting to me how the 3 shiny caterpies have very close PIDs. Those three were also done in one batch (server request).

Edit: A next thing to test would be if the PIDs stay different across different batches. i.e. applying the shiny code to the same OGs but in a separate server request.
