FuzzyRabidUsagi Posted December 30, 2021 Posted December 30, 2021 (edited) I've been working on a challenge run idea for Pokemon Emerald Version (U), and I seem to have hit a brick wall. Let me explain my issue, and any mitigating factors I think might be necessary. The device is Visual Boy Advanced Prior to importing onto PKHex, I used the Universal Pokemon Randomizer on my game to create a .sav with the custom rule "Pokemon can learn all TMs and HMs." I can load this .sav fine on my Visual Boy Advance. The next step I took was uploading that file into PKHex, which also worked fine. It took my data from the emulator, and I designed the pokemon I was going to start the challenge with and placed them in my box. Here's where the challenge came in. Following the instructions, I went to Export SAV to save my data. However, where every guide shows there should be an option to go to Export Main, there was no such option. Not being able to Export Main, I clicked Export SAV instead, which allowed me to save my file as one of two types, either "All Files" or as a SAV3E file. I tried with both of those options, but it did not save as a SAV file, it saved as just a "file". I couldn't open the file with any of my apps and could not find it through the Visual Boy Advanced. When I tried to physically move the file to the Visual Boy Advanced, it says it is not a valid ROM file. What is the issue I'm facing? Can someone tell me how I can make Export SAV > Export Main show up, and what the issue might be? How do I edit my pokemon into the game? edit: Doing some troubleshooting, I re-downloaded the Pokemon Emerald ROM and repeated the previous steps without plugging it into the Universal Randomizer. When I opened the file on PKHex, I still did not have Export SAV > Export Main as an option, it would only allow me to click "Export SAV" and save as an "All Files" or a "SAV3E file". So I am no longer sure if this is a problem with using the Universal Randomizer, or if there could be a compatibility issue otherwise. Edited December 31, 2021 by FuzzyRabidUsagi New information
theSLAYER Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 Upload the save here. Not the ROM, only the save.
DarkWahlburg Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 Did you ever figure this out? I'm having the exact same problem. I can load the VBA save file in just fine, but when I go to export I can't pick any filetype that can be imported back into VBA successfully.
