Need Help (Pokémon Soul Silver freezers wen Connecting to Wi-Fi)

my Pokémon Soul Silver game freezers up when i hit yes to connect to wi-fi im using an AK2 with the unofficial kernal i also tried it with the official kernal and still no luck i tried holding X wen i load the game i tried changing settings around and still freezers but on my R4i it does freeze up but then i try again and it works fine so any help will be Much Appreciated.
