Binary is not compatible with save file

I saved my emerald game on my ds lite twice, then used a r4 to get my save file, but when trying to open it I get the "binary is not compatible with save file" error.

How do I fix this?

How did you obtain said file? That file doesn't look like a proper save. just bunch of garbled data.
