alxxnr Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 I've been searching for like 2 hours now, I opened PKHeX and added a few pokemon for my game, I saved everything, even when I reopened PKHeX all the changes were still there, however when I loaded my game on Citra nothing had been changed in the game, I tried searching for answers for about 2 hours and I tried everything to get it to work but it just doesn't seem to change anything in game.

Expand Did you export the edited save from PKHeX? Did you place the edited save back into your save folder of Citra?
alxxnr Posted April 21, 2021 Author Posted April 21, 2021 Yes I did I "Export SAV">"Export Main" and replaced the save file already there.

alxxnr Posted April 21, 2021 Author Posted April 21, 2021 Yes when I reopen PKHeX and open the same save file the edits that I made are still there.

Expand Okay, keep a copy of this edited save, somewhere safe, like in your documents folder. now delete the one that is in the Citra save folder. Then launch the game. What happens?
alxxnr Posted April 21, 2021 Author Posted April 21, 2021 Ok let me see. Nothing happens, the game loads normally.
theSLAYER Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 On 4/21/2021 at 1:38 PM, alxxnr said: Nothing happens, the game loads normally. Expand That means your save folder is another folder, lol. How can the game load normally if you deleted the save from the save folder? :3 Follow the steps here to access the correct save folder:
alxxnr Posted April 21, 2021 Author Posted April 21, 2021 Yes I followed that tutorial but still nothing changes.

Completely close Citra. Go to the correct save folder (using the tutorial), back up the save there (like make a copy and paste it in your documents), then delete the save from that Citra folder. Then relaunch Citra and try to launch the game. Does it pop up a corrupted game save message? Does it load as tho your save is still there? For the record, you're not using save states, are you? In case you have no idea what I'm asking, how are you saving and loading saves?
alxxnr Posted April 21, 2021 Author Posted April 21, 2021 It loads normally as if the save were still there, however when I try to save the game it says that it "failed".

In case you have no idea what I'm asking, how are you saving and loading saves? Expand
alxxnr Posted April 21, 2021 Author Posted April 21, 2021 I first save normally as if I were using a 3DS and then I save state also.

Expand Okay, am I right to assume you loaded up a save state as part of the launching sequence, during the "delete test" I mentioned earlier?
theSLAYER Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 On 4/21/2021 at 8:12 PM, alxxnr said: Yes I opened the save state. Expand Could you redo the delete test, but not load the save state?
theSLAYER Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 On 4/21/2021 at 8:16 PM, alxxnr said: It says the save game is corrupt. Expand That sounds correct. So here's what you should do: Place an edited save into that Citra folder, and when you launch the game, don't load the save state. Let me know whether the game loads with the elements you edited. (I get the feeling you were previously loading a state save, that was made prior to the edits, so of course the edits won't show up then)
alxxnr Posted April 21, 2021 Author Posted April 21, 2021 OHHHHHH I get what I was doing wrong I got it now THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOU HELP 1

For the record you can still make and load state saves, just don't load a state save when you intend to load an edited save. (and also save in-game when you intend to edit the save with the recent progress) 1
