Catching Gabite

In pokemon Ultra Sun it says that a Gabite can only show up during SOS battle and if it has sandstorm in Haina Desert, just want to ask if will it show up if I change the weather so my pokemon in battle will not take damage from sandstorm since I know it will take several turns until it show up.

The weather has to persist in battle in order to successfully call it.
 

So sandstorm has to be up when you wait for it.
Once you get it, you can switch to other weather.

well, you could just be in battle with a mon that doesn't take damage from sandstorm.

Gastrodon might be good. Ground type immune to Sandstorm's damage,
Water type moves to hit Rock and Ground types. Ground type moves to be used on Steel Types.
