Will un-ticking event flags allow me to re catch legendary Pokemon?

I'm not really sure what the event flags do, if I un-tick legendaries that have already been caught on my save file will this allow me to re catch them again?

For most cases yes, provided it doesn’t require extra conditions (defeat someone else prior to it spawning, for example)

ok thanks, im in the process of catching all the legendaries for previous games to store them in Bank for collection, I couldn't seem to find ones I previously caught in my saves.
