[Pokemon X] Hacked ability reverting after mega evolution

I used pkhax to change my Gengar's ability to Cursed Body and it worked just fine. However, every time I mega evolve, the ability reverts to Levitate. Is there a way to make the ability change permanent?

That's because it'll load the data from the game.

There's a way to do it (and you shouldn't bring it online): hack the rom.

Specifically, hack the personalinfo file. (pk3ds software might be able to help you)

I only own the physical copy. That sounds like too much of a hassle, anyway. Thank you for the reply.

If you have CFW (Luma), you are able to do "layered FS"

Basically that means that you can hacked modified data in a folder,
and the 3DS will run the modified data layered on top of the cart (cart doesn't get modified).


alternatively, hack in a Gengar that is already in Mega form + modified ability.
It will exit mega after battle, tho.
