In SS rom, OT not changing when set?

I'm using pkhex in a soulsilver rom, and hacked in a poliwag. I noticed it stopped obeying me, so i set the ID, SID, name, and OT gender to exactly what it is in-game. However, when i export the sav and import it in DeSmuME, poliwag's OT remains blank and the ID no. is just a bunch of zeroes. Any help?

You should try to use the "import battery" option,

select save file size to auto (as provided save, think it's second option from the TOP),

then soft reset in game.

 

(also, you did set the poliwag back into the save right)
