DuckOnQuack
A couple years ago I lost my copy of Pokemon X, but realized I still had a save backup of in it in the form of a bin file from Powersaves. I went ahead and held onto it in case some day I could find a way to inject it into a new copy. Now back to modern day I have a 3DS with CFW. From what I understand from looking around here, PKHex can't open the file since it's encrypted, but 3DSes with CFW can inject it back into a game. How would I go about doing this? A normal cia save manager wouldn't work since it isn't a main file, correct? My new copy of X is a digital copy as well if that matters.
evandixon
Most cartridges' saves (including Pokemon) are encrypted on a per-cartridge basis. It is not possible to restore your backup without the original cartridge. If you backed it up with a cia save manager beforehand, it would have been decrypted, and therefore reusable.
