oxfordoctopus Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 If I happen to have a SD card with what is presumably a dumped update of 9.5.22 (as I updated with it) would I be able to someway revert back to that update? I'm pretty sure this SD card does have that update in question in it, but I'm not entirely sure if I could somehow manipulate my actual 3DS into reverting from its .23U state. If nothing at all, it's just an idea.
Kaphotics Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 SD cards do not store the current firmware; only way to dump/restore is via nand backups.
oxfordoctopus Posted March 22, 2015 Author Posted March 22, 2015 I've got no idea, I was throwing theoretical ideas around for potential ways to restore prior firmware. Is the spiderweb exploit open source at all? I wanna take a look at it and see if I can't try to strongarm it in with the newest firmware update or try to recreate the crashing effect within the newest firmware update.
Kaphotics Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 It's a webkit exploit in the 3DS browser which was patched. https://github.com/yifanlu/Spider3DSTools
