Metropolis Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Emerald is in English. Thanks in advance! Loaded your save in VBA and you have appear to have no boxed Pokemon in the game? When I go to the box editor I see an array of Empty. Clicking the New button will create a new Bulbasaur which you can edit to whatever you'd like but there aren't any Bulbasaurs there when I loaded it. Does that make sense, there doesn't appear to be anything wrong?
Dennis21 Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Yes i know, i released them.. The thing is that i can not edit to whatever pokemon i like.
Dennis21 Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Ok my mistake i want to convert my pokemon from gen 2 to gen 3 from my silver to my emerald, but every time i do as the instructions say all the time in the pc box in emerald appears a bulbasaur and not the converted pokemon from silver version.
Metropolis Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 The easiest way is with the copy/paste buttons as this will auto-convert the pokemon. In the newest version, this is possible with two games loaded at once. Click Copy on the first Pokemon in Silver then open the emerald game and click Paste.
Dennis21 Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Now i have problem migrating pokemon from emerald to platinum.. When i migrate it says always at the end save failed. Metropolis can you help me with this if you please? Thanks in advance!
Metropolis Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 No idea what's going on there. I'd save normally twice (to refresh the backup save) on both your emulator and real-life cartridge. Emulating Pal Park transfer is probably dodgy, better to hack the gen 4 direct.
POKEMONMASTER260 Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Hey, so, I tried to convert a standard Pokémon Stadium 2 save file from little endian to big endian, the problem is I have to do it in chunks because if I do the whole thing at once, it crashes. I've got a chunk that's essentially the first part of it reversed, though. Can you tell me if I'm doing it right? 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 50 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 76 30 4E 2B 00 00 50 33 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 80 8C 8F 50 8C 80 82 87 00 00 00 00 64 64 04 00 19 0F 0F 0A 75 30 22 12 75 30 75 30 75 30 75 30 00 10 2C 14 09 B8 00 00 44 00 42 07 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 50 00 00 00 89 98 8D 97 00 00 00 00 80 64 04 00 0F 19 1E 05 75 30 44 33 75 30 75 30 75 30 75 30 00 0F 42 40 7A D4 00 00 7C 00 08 5D 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 50 00 00 00 82 94 8D 8E 80 91 93 88 00 00 00 00 80 64 04 00 05 23 1E 1E 3A 98 00 00 3A 98 3A 98 3A 98 3A 98 00 13 12 D0 61 36 00 00 90 00 3B 40 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 93 91 50 00 8B 88 86 80 85 84 91 80 00 00 00 00 80 64 04 00 19 0A 05 1E 61 A8 22 12 61 A8 61 A8 61 A8 61 A8 00 10 2C 14 DF 2B 00 00 A0 00 37 5B 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 8E 8D 50 00 8B 8E 92 88 93 98 8F 87 00 00 00 00 80 64 04 00 19 14 0F 14 61 A8 22 12 61 A8 61 A8 61 A8 61 A8 00 10 2C 14 F9 6C 00 00 9D 00 AC 81 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 8E 92 50 00 99 80 8F 83 00 00 00 00 80 64 04 00 0A 0F 14 05 3A 98 00 00 3A 98 3A 98 3A 98 3A 98 00 13 12 D0 94 C5 00 00 91 00 57 F9 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 50 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 EDIT: Here is how it was originally: 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 50 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 F9 57 00 91 00 00 C5 94 D0 12 13 00 98 3A 98 3A 98 3A 98 3A 00 00 98 3A 05 14 0F 0A 00 04 64 80 00 00 00 00 83 8F 80 99 00 50 92 8E 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 81 AC 00 9D 00 00 6C F9 14 2C 10 00 A8 61 A8 61 A8 61 A8 61 12 22 A8 61 14 0F 14 19 00 04 64 80 00 00 00 00 87 8F 98 93 88 92 8E 8B 00 50 8D 8E 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 5B 37 00 A0 00 00 2B DF 14 2C 10 00 A8 61 A8 61 A8 61 A8 61 12 22 A8 61 1E 05 0A 19 00 04 64 80 00 00 00 00 80 91 84 85 80 86 88 8B 00 50 91 93 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 40 3B 00 90 00 00 36 61 D0 12 13 00 98 3A 98 3A 98 3A 98 3A 00 00 98 3A 1E 1E 23 05 00 04 64 80 00 00 00 00 88 93 91 80 8E 8D 94 82 00 00 00 50 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 5D 08 00 7C 00 00 D4 7A 40 42 0F 00 30 75 30 75 30 75 30 75 33 44 30 75 05 1E 19 0F 00 04 64 80 00 00 00 00 97 8D 98 89 00 00 00 50 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 07 42 00 44 00 00 B8 09 14 2C 10 00 30 75 30 75 30 75 30 75 12 22 30 75 0A 0F 0F 19 00 04 64 64 00 00 00 00 87 82 80 8C 50 8F 8C 80 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 33 50 00 00 2B 4E 30 76 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 50 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
folkerta Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 I'm just an average pokemon fan wanting to transfer some of my awesome gen1 pokemon (like mew) onto my gen4 and gen5 games. I've read through this thread, I've downloaded the links, and I have read through the excellent instruction PDF. So, I'm just wanting clarification because I'm not technologically gifted at all. It's not possible to get my pokemon off of my original gameboy cartridges, but I can start a new gen1 game on an emmulator on my PC and then use this program to transfer the emmulator pokemon to my DS games using a flash cart?

You would need a Gameboy save dumper to use your Pokémon from your original cartridge.
Metropolis Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 You would need a Gameboy save dumper to use your Pokémon from your original cartridge. For what you described you will need a DS Phat/Lite + flash card + GBA cartridge. First convert your Gen 1 Pokemon from the Gen 1 save to the Gen 3 save (both on your PC). Then dump the Gen 3 save with your converted Pokemon onto the GBA cartridge, then Pal Park them over to the Gen 4 NDS game. The editor doesn't directly support Gen 4 or above saves.
arromdee2 Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 You would need a Gameboy save dumper to use your Pokémon from your original cartridge. Well, technically you don't. You can use a Gameboy flash cart, trade the Pokemon to the Gameboy flash cart, and then get the save file off of the flash cart.
Metropolis Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 I have a non english emerald game, so Metropolis wont work for my save file? It probably won't, but worth giving it a go. Back up your save file first in case it corrupts it!
Nikkichu Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Ok wait I am so late to this party and I apologize for my total n00bishness, but I have been aching for something like this forever. Help a basic bitch out, I am severely technologically impaired (I am typing this from an ipad because my 2008 MacBook doesn't have a working charger, which leads me to...) could I conceivably do this on a Mac or is that a silly question to even ask. Please be kind I'm new here and know so very little hahaha.
Metropolis Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Yes, I use a Mac and can run the JAR file on it. The full version (release sometime before 2015) will be released as Windows .EXE, Mac OS X .DMG as well as the Java .JAR executables, so you can run by double-click straight after Download.

Nikkichu Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Can't wait to try this! Would love a video tutorial of it - does that exist anywhere yet? Couldn't find on youtube but maybe elsewhere? If someone makes one let me know, if not I'll find someone computer savvy to help me
goofweaqr Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 I have a question when i export a pokemon from blue version with Pokemon Editor Legacy.exe it is 23 bytes and when i do it with Pokemon Editor 64-bit.exe it is 56 bytes. I am exporting them both as pkm files, both to and from gen 1. This is a Nintendo event Pokemon and I want to Export it properly. Which would be a correct pkm file to use or program i should be using? I would believe Pokemon Editor 64-bit.exe , is there a newer version I should be using? I have attached two screen shots of the pkm file in hexadecimal. sorry for the big images it would not let me upload or attach and images
Metropolis Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 56 bytes = 1 byte for the Pokemon's species, 11 bytes for its nickname, 11 bytes for trainer name then 33 bytes for the pokemon's stats. Only 23 bytes means the final 33 stat bytes appear to have been skipped, I'll look into it. This isn't a problem for the Gen 3 case I've tested, since those are always 80 bytes.
goofweaqr Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 (edited) @Metropolis Thank you very much, I am really looking forward to this. Also can you see if the bulk loading the box's for gen one works? When I copy and paste this mew and paste 5 into the party they do not past right and are truncated in hex value. Also when I paste this mew in to the box the programs shows a trainer character for the first one and then instantly crashes. Also when I fill up the boxes, I think it was box one or twelve in the legacy program and it says box 2 and 12 are filled and I only filled one box? sorry it took so long to respond the site has been giving me problems. when I do a password reset and create a new one I can log in and as soon as I log out the new and old password seem to stop working. also if you can not fix and compile a new build right a way can you please tell me the values I would need to edit in the save files to add this mes to all 6 in party and al fill all the boxes please. and or release your source code. Thank you again very much. P.S. this is a the 1999 Nintendo toys r us giveaway mew .I Downloaded the game save from some one on another form, he used something like the mega memory card to save his game. I will give him credit in the post when I can find the page again , I had a problem with my pc and had to reinstall windows and for got to save my bookmarks before formatting. I have also been checking back here for your response post. but haven't logged back in cause each time I have to do a forgotten password to get back in. Also do you know how to edit the save file to add/ edited the trainer's Hidden ID besides the OT ID, that way I can make a game save with the trainer id and the hidden id? When I copy and paste this mew and paste 5 into the party they do not past right and are truncated in hex value.Which version is this, gen one? I'll have a go tonight. Could you copy/paste the Mew from the application into this site and it should paste as text like a password? Also when I paste this mew in to the box the programs shows a trainer character for the first one and then instantly crashes. Also when I fill up the boxes, I think it was box one or twelve in the legacy program and it says box 2 and 12 are filled and I only filled one box? sorry it took so long to respond the site has been giving me problems. when I do a password reset and create a new one I can log in and as soon as I log out the new and old password seem to stop working. I'd advise you contact one of the ProjecctPokemon admins about that, I don't manage this website. also if you can not fix and compile a new build right a way can you please tell me the values I would need to edit in the save files to add this mes to all 6 in party and al fill all the boxes please. and or release your source code. Opening up an existing Pokemon and changing its species to Mew should work, since there's so few fields in Gen 1. Thank you again very much. I have also been checking back here for your response post. but haven't logged back in cause each time I have to do a forgotten password to get back in. If you copy/paste that Mew into this discussion as the text, then it will be accessible to everyone by pasting it into the text box that appears when the application loads. Also do you know how to edit the save file to add/ edited the trainer's Hidden ID besides the OT ID, that way I can make a game save with the trainer id and the hidden id? Hidden ID doesn't exist in gen 1 and 2. For gen 3 there is a field in the latest editor you can change secret ID with. Answers in bold.
goofweaqr Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 This is gen 1 Pokemon Editor 64-bit.exe used to crashe when pasting. I am on windows 10 64x and I was on it before when the programs used to run, "Pokemon Editor 32bit & 64-bit" will not run or open any more. Only Pokemon Editor Legacy.exe will run, do you have any later versions I found these some where on this forum? when I convert it from gen 1 to gen 2 and then from gen 2 to gen 3 it is pulling a hidden trainer ID from some where. Mew is also holding the bitter berry in gen 2 importing or pasting into the party or box would crash it. I have event tried running it in compatibility mode for windows 8
goofweaqr Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 sorry it took so long, also when using pike save and manually fill boxes 1-12 its fine in game. when I import that save into your program it shows box 1 is empty and that only boxes 2-12 are filled. I download your 32x program again from another link and was able to get you the code FZiOkoeIkYFQAAAAjISWUAAAAAAAAAAVABkFABgYLQEAAADZlgAAhwAAAAAAAAAAAAChxSMAAAA= pasting this code into a party or box crashes your app

Hidden ID is generated to preserve shininess and gender - otherwise Pokemon lose shininess when naively migrating.
